With a dozen polls being conducted right now could it be possible for them to be moved to their own section?

They're Duran Duran-related. Furthermore, theyre not just polls. People are discussing the topics. What purpose would it serve moving them out of the Duran Duran section?

Putting them together in their own section wouldn't stop the discussions.
I never said they are just polls.
But maybe with the amount of them it would make it easier if they were grouped together in a section.

They'll drop off as soon as people stop talking about them anyway. They don't move to the top of the heap when people vote, just when they respond with a comment. Sooner or later everyone who had something to say about them will have said their piece.

I wouldn't mind seeing polls in their own section. It seems a common choice on many boards I frequent. Just like on the old dd.com, a lot of people for whatever reason don't go much past the first/second page, so I think both polls and non-polls would get more attention.
Just my 0.02.

If people can't be bothered to go past the first or second page, that's kind of their problem, isn't it? Like I said earlier, if the polls are popular enough with people that they keep bubbling up near the top, why should they be moved? A poll doesn't rise again if people just vote, only if they leave a comment. And since the comments are, in effect, people talking about Duran Duran, where else should they be but in the Duran Duran section? When people stop giving their opinions in the poll threads, they'll disappear. Give it a chance. They've only been going for two days or so. When there are topics people find interesting enough to keep talking about - as they've done with the subject of the MySpace profile for Andy's studio, for example - they'll stick to the top just like anything else. It's democratic. There's a finite number of polls that would even make any sense, and we're getting pretty close to the end of the line. I have no personal interest, for example, in starting a poll on Nick's best hairstyle, or the video in which Warren's chest was oiliest. Of course someone else might start that poll, you never know. Ultimately it's Mark's call, and I'd respect whatever decision he makes. I just don't see the logic of moving Duran Duran-themed topics from the Duran Duran section just because they've got a poll at the beginning of them.

I think the polls are ok where they are. It's a No-News-From-Duran-Duran period and it's an interesting way of discussing the band and your favourites and dislikes. Sure, there are a lot of polls, but they will slowly move down once everyone has contributed.
Of course if there are polls started on Nick's best hairstyle, or the video in which Warren's chest was oiliest, then they would have a place of their very own. The recycle bin.

Polls will stay on the front page as long as people keep posting comments, but that's not the point of a poll, in my opinion. Because if it was, you wouldn't have to start an actual poll with a number of options you can choose from, you'd simply ask "what is your favourite album?" etc. and then have people write comments on that. A poll thread is focused on the poll results, I think, and people's comments are of secundary importance.
You can participate in a poll thread without posting a comment, and I think it would be a shame to see a poll slip back to page 2, 3 and further back just because people don't comment on it. I hardly ever comment on polls, because I think it's voting that matters (ie it lets you see the results immediately instead of a normal thread where you have to read all the comments, count the opinions and calculate what answer is the most popular).
As for people who don't go past the 2nd page - it's not always a matter of 'not being bothered', not everyone has 24/7 broadband access to the internet and/or simply has the time to go back many pages. I don't see in what way having a "polls" section would hurt those who do have the time to check every page.
We'll see what Mark says.
(ETA a few more words.)

I'm wary of adding more sections, as the majority of people here (or at least the ones who made a comment) want to keep the forum 'simple' and easy to navigate, but it's early days here, so we'll see how things pan out.
