Just back from Boston where Chekhov's Wig basically ran through our entire set, working on new material and polishing up the old stuff. In addition to the aforementioned songs we played at the Baggot in June, our set will also include additional album tracks, singles and demos from Duran Duran's history. I'm sore as - seven hours behind the drum kit will do that - but I'm buzzing about what we're going to bring to the party. And speaking about the party - Make no mistake: SBS NYC 2008 is open to everyone. It's a celebration of Duran Duran, and it's going to be the perfect chance for you to share your love of the band with friends both old and new. If you're looking through this thread, and you think you might not come because you don't know anyone, let me relate a story from the first SBS in 2006; I met one of my very best friends there. His name is Mark, and he's the lead singer and guitarist in Chekhov's Wig. You never know what might happen!

Indeed! Stuporfly nailed it.
The fans that attend the SBS events range from extremely casual and not really into the whole "fan experience" to those who are very much into it. There is something for everyone. I know a lot of people are bringing friends who have an appreciation for Duran, but wouldn't consider themselves "fans" in any way.
Our goal is to pepper Duran throughout the evening, not beat you over the head with them. After the movie, you'll hear Chekhov's Wig and their re-imagined setlist, and then you'll hear the occasional Duran Duran song from the DJ. Subtle references will be made here and there that only fans will pick up.
It's a fun time for everyone!
