Did I even spell that right?
OK, we got a SUPER DUPER cheap flight (like $54 each way - that's about 50% less than usual) into Islip...any of you NY'ers have good advice about getting to and from this airport to Manhattan (other than a $100 cab ride)?
I'm looking at the LIRR, which seems to be the cheapest/easiest route, and there's also a shuttle of some sort.
Anyone?

I've flown into Islip before, though I was always going in the other direction as my father was living in Southampton at the time.
Your cheapest option (LIRR) is also probably your most reliable option, only because trains tend to follow a tighter schedule than ground transportation like buses (Jitney). The train is usually quicker, but the Jitney is more comfortable. It really just depends on what you want out of a relatively short trip.

I'd call the transportation station in the airport. But Stup is right also.

I live a few towns from Islip....I think you should take the LIRR or possibly rent a vehicle with other duranies taking the islip route.

I left from the Islip Airport after the June show and loved it. The LIRR is your best bet and there are taxis or a shuttle for $5 a person to the airport which is 5 minutes from the station.
It's a great small airport, no lines the day I was there.
