I put up my copy of Live in America, the French Fan Club Colored vinyl LP. There is maybe 6 of them in the world left in any condition(real ones). I hated to do it, but I need the money. I thought maybe someone wants the holy grail of all Duran vinyl. It is up on Ebay. I feel dirty. I never thought I'd part with this.

I thought there were a few of those around. Do you know how many were made? I have it already, but don't knew for sure how many there were. I think there is also a less rare black vinyl one, too, right?

6 copies? wow, i feel very blessed as i have 2 (which is one third of 6) in my collection!
Seriously, i think there's more than 6 out there. And the price of over USD 450 is a bit too much i think. But there may be someone out there who's willing to pay this amount, you never know!
Good luck and best regards, Peter

Interesting that you all have this many in your collections when there were maybe 75 of the red and 25 of the black pressed. Very interesting, you must have been members of the french fan club in that time frame. Considering most Duran vinyl articles call it as I did the holy grail of all non official vinyl. But hey if you say you have 6 copies(all real to), I belive you, really I do. I believe Obama's plans for America are working well to.But seriously, if you are gonna trash someone get you facts stright first an or wait for someone who has a little more knowledge in something speak first, pulling your post, now that is a ripoff, since it was really funny. This is one of the most faked non official vinyl pieces in history, so be real careful when you say you have 6 real copies of the 75 that were pressed, makes you look less than truthful, just saying. Read it wrong, you didn't say you had six copies, but if it is true you have 2, yes you should feel pretty blessed as like I said 75 were pressed in the red.

Lowered the price to $450. I'm not above learning!! Just to clarify, if you have a real one it should be heavy as hell, as it was pressed on 170 gram vinyl.

Krisjay - I don't think you read his post correctly. First, let's start with what you had posted. According to your first post, you said:
I put up my copy of Live in America, the French Fan Club Colored vinyl LP. There is maybe 6 of them in the world left in any condition(real ones).
Now, those are your words. MissNovemberTuesday said she had 1 and Poptrash also posted a reply saying that he had 2 of them in his collection and then went on to speculate that there were more than 6 out there.
You then responded to their post with:
Interesting that you all have this many in your collections when there were maybe 75 of the red and 25 of the black pressed. Very interesting, you must have been members of the french fan club in that time frame. Considering most Duran vinyl articles call it as I did the holy grail of all non official vinyl. But hey if you say you have 6 copies(all real to), I belive you, really I do.
Your post contradicts your first post. In your first post, you say only 6 of the colored vinyl were pressed, but now you're saying 75 of the red and 25 of the black. Neither poster claimed to have 6 copies - Poptrash says he has 2 and MissNovemberTuesday said she has 1. Perhaps you didn't read the post by Poptrash clearly?
Further down in your post you wrote:
But seriously, if you are gonna trash someone get you facts stright first an or wait for someone who has a little more knowledge in something speak first, pulling your post, now that is a ripoff, since it was really funny.
Actually, you should have done more research on this item before starting this thread and then slamming those who say that they already posses this item in their collection. It's not wise for a first time poster to come in here and be dismissive of people who have been here much longer than you and are probably better informed as collectors than you are. Secondly, no one here was trashing you. Poptrash only made the comment that $450 was a bit too much and that someone out there was probably willing to pay that price. And apart from you, neither responder has pulled or edited their post except for you.
Your post then continues on with you saying:
This is one of the most faked non official vinyl pieces in history, so be real careful when you say you have 6 real copies of the 75 that were pressed, makes you look less than truthful, just saying. Read it wrong, you didn't say you had six copies, but if it is true you have 2, yes you should feel pretty blessed as like I said 75 were pressed in the red.
Are you sure this is one of the most faked non-official vinyl pieces in history? Where did you gleam this bit of information from? Can you back up this statement? Again, I think you should have read his post better as your reply comes off a bit contradictory and insulting to Poptrash. Again, you inferred that he had 6 of the 75 (I believe it was you who first claimed there were only 6 of the colored vinyls), but then corrected yourself - but not before making it look like Poptrash was a liar with saying "makes you look less than truthful". Nice job! High five!
Apparently English is not your native language. If I were you, I would carefully read the post on these boards first or get someone to help you out before posting a response. Coming on here as a first time poster and insulting those who have been here much longer than you and with much more knowledge in collecting Duran Duran only makes you look foolish.

Sorry i upset you. Apparantly you love the record very much. But why lowering the price if it's worth more to you?
Please share the info you have on this item! We are all collectors here and would love to know if we're having fakes in our collection or not. So, is there any website where the info is at? Were you running the French fanclub or involved in the release of this issue? I stress out that we live on information, so please share!
Again, good luck as i truely hope you're able to sell it.
Best regards, Peter

Very valid points on some issues, but you stated that I said 6 were pressed, I said maybe 6 were left in the world(real ones). The point I am hearing is being a newer member and throwing wieght around I haven't earned yet. I can accept that, and say I'm sorry, I am a memebr of enough boards to know better, shame on me for that one. As far as my knowledge base I have colelcted Duran since 81, have had most if not all pieces of something or other at one time or another, and base my "facts" as you call them on that. I think $450.00USD is a fair price for this piece in this condition, you asked where i garnered my info on this being one of the most faked non official pieces of vinyl in history, I base that on an article in Goldmine magazine, which I have been trying to pull up, and will continue to try, it is all about non official Duran vinyl, it was a great article, and I will post the link as soon as I can find it. The rest, yup you are right, I am a new memeber and , like I said have been a memeber of enough boards to know better than putting down or calling out any member who has been a member for as long as others, again my bad, and sorry on that one!! Newbies, no matter how knowledged have to earn thier way.

Why lower the price? Well because I am in a tight spot right now, and am having a hard time makling ends meet so to speak, so if lowering it to a price I still think is fair will help it sell, why not. I can live with lower, but not less than I think a real one is worth. Obviously do I think in the end that is the offer I'll accept, no, I'm sure it will be lower, but like I said selling a loved piece of the collection sucks any way you slice it.

How much? I Think That you never sell your vinyl at this price. The estimated price for this item is 30, or 40 € maximun. its on ebay it was sold at this price, and its status was excellent. even if we consider the high cost of shipping, your item will never be sold. ps: it is not true that there are only 6 copies worldwide.
