no don't think so as i've heard Mediterranea is the only new song on the EP the others are live version of sunrise and another which I can't remember maybe OW..as for the album comin out in february the songs missing are Other peoples' lifes and Too bad you're so beautiful(that's the track you're talking about)..plus Mediterranea of course There's also 'King of Nowhere'. So that makes it 13 tracks. I wonder which one will not make the album? exactly!forgot that one...hmmm confused now

Massive potential here if the right producer was used. Such a shame 2 of them are no longer with us ie Colin Thurston and Alex Sadkin, come to think of it Bernard Edwards would have created a much more polished sound and he's no longer with us. Should have asked Andy Taylor to produce it LOL I agree. They've been doing their best, but there is something missing. Asking Andy to produce it would have been a very good idea indeed!

Ok,this is my opinion, I agree on no mercy with the mixing, you hear every little detail, but maybe you hear too much. And there are some little tiny mistakes on the album, simon recorded the vocals without Autotune, and you can hear that,he sings sometimes out of tune. There are 2 or 3 little flaws, like a dubble hihat ...at least thats what i hear..........but... I love the album, its far better then Astronaut and beyond RCM.......... My top tracks are, leave a light on,and All you need is now, Wished they left out the News bulletin girl in The man who stole a leopard.
My absolute favourite is ,before the rain........Its like iam hearing a new version of Stings,Russians.......real beauty

No kidding, I am hoping that was their idea of a joke. It's got to be, no one in the right mind would actually think it would be a good idea.

Just because I don't let the excitement to deceive my ears I'm a troll? F you! I have no choice but to respect your post , but based on your comments , you know zip about Duran . A knowledgeable fan , you are not . This album is everything Duran . Everything that they have stood for or at least have attempted to stand for in the last 30 yrs , shines on this album . www.spandauballet.com is where you should be

LOL All you need is now: It's ok, I like the drums and the bridge before the end of the song it's sexy! I hope we get a good video. Blame the machines: I love it, but I think it could have been much better mixed, it sounds like a demo. Being followed: The same here, love it but it should have been mixed properly. Leave a light on: This is ok, it's like Save a Prayer's little sister. Safe: I just love the bass. It sucks, it's like a Scissor Sisters song and I dislike this band. Ana Matronic contribution is sexy though. Girl panic: This could sound much better, the mixing of this song is messy, I just hear loud noises, it should be more clear and clean. The man who stole a leopard: The beggining was so exciting! but then it turned out to be an ok song. Kelis contribution is fine. Runway runaway: So short, not developped, but still sounding entretaining though not quite exciting. Before the rain: This is crap. Sounds like a creepy goth song made from Medazzaland sessions. A filler. Mediterranea: So LOVELY. Simple but lovely, makes you dream about your ideal vacation. That was my review yesterday. After an 8 hour sleep, I must say I feel empty. Forget about the Rio sequel. Just go away Mark Ronson and don't come back. The album is a mess, could it be the rush of time for releasing it this month? The only track that still stands out after a week is Mediterranea. I can't believe I have waited 3 years for just one simple but catchy song. Don't let the excitement to deceive your ears and soul. Now, how long do we have to wait for the next album? 3 years?

Is has diddly squat to do with "excitement". If you honestly can't hear Duran's old sound in any of the new tracks then you need to book an appointment with your local GP and get him to conduct some ear tests. He will probably recommended a dose of "Stop trolling on the Duran Duran fan forums". ;D
Don't be so touchy by the way. We're not being nasty, we're just a bit baffled. I mean, the album was only mixed by the legendary, acclaimed mixer "Spike" Stent and you think the mixing is poor? How could you reach that conclusion?

It's not so much something missing, but too much added in across the board. Do we really need little "mood" intros to every song? Are we that dumb that we can't figure out what a POP SONG is about? And there's that "Look at me, I'm being all art school again" synth siren on AYNIN. Little bells and whistles getting in the way of potentially brilliant work - if only we could actually hear it. Simon's vox castrata doesn't help. I listened, strained my ears actually, and heard some great bass and drums. But even better, to my complete joy, there were a couple of spots where Dom was definitely channeling Andy. A more minimalist approach would shoot this album to the top. As for Andy producing it, honestly he can get a little heavy-handed too, with the fuzztone. He'd certainly have free downloads, plural, that might cut into the profits some. On the plus side, the studio would be very inexpensive and the synth siren would be lying at the bottom of the clear blue sea. ;D
