I was reading the DD @ dd.com and I noticed that they removed all references to Sterling Campbell in their updated timeline.
"Warren Cuccurullo becomes a permanent member of Duran Duran, as they release their sixth studio album Liberty and the singles “Violence of Summer (Love’s Taking Over)” and “Serious.” To the disappointment of their fans, the band chooses not to tour."
Is not that I'm a fan of Sterling but don't you think it's odd? He is however in the Ask Katy FAQs (lineups listing)

They just don't talk about it! - G. PS: I met Sterling last year (after B52's show), and let just say that when I mentioned his stint in DD, his face dropped!

This is a bit like the British Royal Family when Diana divorced Prince Charles. They took Diana's Royal title from her and then pretended she didn't exist. Then of course she died in what has been described as suspicious circumstances and it took the Queen about a week to acknowledge she was dead.

There really isn't much more I can add to this subject, without getting myself into very hot water! So i'll leave it pretty much there, but all I can say without getting my feet stuck in the treacle, is that it has a lot to do with MONEY. What you take from that I don't know, but I only know what I know about this through a VERY reliable source and I take it as the truth, but it is not my place to say anymore. In fact I have probably already said too much. And thats where I leave the room......... - G.

All I've heard regarding the matter is that in 1991 when they were recording demos in Warren's house, Sterling was in Spain and was unhappy at Liberty being a flop, they were not in contact and he wasn't around to write new songs, so they did an "Andy 2006" on him!

Ah. I always kinda wondered what happened there, but never cared enough to ask anyone. Not that I would have HAD anyone to ask back then. I was cut off from thew world here behind the Orange Curtain with no decent US media coverage and no real sources for info.

Sterling is a good drummer, I saw him performing with David Bowie and he really was great. But to be honest...I never missed him in DD.
For me he was a bit of a let down after Steve Ferrone. As for songwriting, I think Warren was far more competent at that. I've always been happy with the drummers that DD used for their performances from 1993-2001. So I never longed for Sterling to come back.

The Thank You album: # Steve Ferrone # Terry Bozzio # Tony Thompson # Abe Laboriel Jr. Impressive! + our own unique drummer RT. I love Ferrone's drumming and Thompson's 80's work, well he ws THE drum sound of 80's fro me.
