With respect to Fashion Rocks too, they did play Nice along with GOF in 2005.

I used to be a huge fan of Weird Al and think has latest album is A. Very catchy and poppy (of course having stolen from other songs) but B. the videos stand out as being laugh out loud videos, and that's gonna make people link to them. If a DD video was as slick and funny as any of the Weird Al stuff, and flogged like mad in the same way as Al did it, I cant see why DD couldnt go the same way. Its crazy that DD being the funniest guys in pop dont seem to carry that over into their often detatched videos these days.
edit: unlike the Rio and AVTAK days.

For greater exposure, they should license their new songs for commercial ads. They have exclusive control over them and don’t have to depend on radio airplay.
Capital Cities was brilliant to allow use of Safe and Sound in Germany for Vodafone and for Mazda in the U.S. Up and coming bands don’t seem to be getting the “sell out” label for doing this now. Can you imagine a song like Mediterranea promoting an airline or a hotel chain or even an adult beverage company?

Radio play is out of the question. We need and they need to let it go. The good news is singles can have a life on iTunes, Vevo, etc. but releasing a single a month before the album no longer makes sense, at least for a heritage act. Attention spans are short. If someone sees a video and likes the song and they're willing to purchase it, it had better be available RIGHT NOW because a week from now they'll be on to something else. Releasing the AYNIN single for free in iTunes was clever, but without the ability to purchase the rest of the album that very same day made it pointless. Not to mention it was the wrong song. Releasing Girl Panic as a free single and video on the same day the album came out would have had a much bigger impact...
