I can totally see why they want to keep a low profile on this. While the rest of the western world sanctions Russia, our boys let dollars cloud their judgment. Yes I'm not too impressed actually at the moment with bands chase the dollar at all costs attitude and the recent high prices of their book and car gig!! And we wonder why they've got no cred. How much money do they need?? Sort it out boys!!!

Not to get all political and stuff, but how does playing a gig for a pharmaceutical company translate to the band supporting Russia against Ukraine? It’s not like this was a government supported function. As fans of the band, we should give them the benefit of the doubt. And if some want to take a political stance, perhaps this is not the forum for that discussion.

Who do you think attends these kinds of gatherings in Russia? Only the very elite of oligarks and political circuit around Putin have the power and influence to participate. Big money. I support them through thick or thin, but in this case, they should have declined the invitation. Bad judgment. Putins systematically commences murder inside the sovereignity of another country, and Duran Duran is headlining centerstage in his dictatorship. I'm quite dissappointed.

If Duran Duran doesn't want to be tangled up in political controversy, they shouldn't entertain in private for tyrants and their partners. How prostitute can one become? Sorry, but I think they shouldn't have taken this job. The way they have been quiet about this compared to previous private gigs, shows that they aren't completely comfortable about this themselves.

I'm not getting wrapped into a political discussion, but Duran has done several private gigs that no one found out about until after the fact. Secondly, pharmaceuticals come from all over the world these days. Big deal. I'm not going to post any more about this because people are turning this into a political statement but think about this: Duran has been involved in a lot of charity work. What if this company has an important medication for one of the many diseases without a cure? Who cares where it comes from? Don't be so quick to judge people and events.
