This is the artist page for DD on the BMG Chrysalis website. BMG owns the group’s catalogue from the EMI years. I know they are shopping around for a label/partner. It would be amazing if they could cut a deal like Bryan Ferry did a couple of years ago to house their entire catalogue in one place. Notice the songs to sample on the page - AYNIN & WHT. We shall see if they take another chance with a big player or stay independent. bmgchrysalis/duranduran

I think you may have found out which one, well done!! I also think I read somewhere that Roger said that the single will come out on CD! He must think it's still 1993!!!

Yes, that is odd they will be releasing a single on CD, who still buys CD singles? Lets hope the have the same success with this new album as they had back in 1993!

Thanks, I sent my suggestions for a DD RSD 2015 release to them too Hope you get a positive response! I find the BMG (or should I say Bertelsmann) connection with the band interesting. Sure BMG now has the EMI era music rights after Universal had to divest itself of them after the merger. However, BMG was in some way a part of the deal when the reunited group signed with Epic in 2004. The timeline goes something like this: March 2004 - Sony BMG Music Entertainment begins as a 50–50 joint venture between Sony Music Entertainment and Bertelsmann Music Group, part of the Bertelsmann multi-media conglomerate. June 2004 - The band signs with Epic Records, a subsidiary of Sony BMG Music Entertainment. October 2004 - Astronaut is released. November 2007 - RCM is released. August 2008 - Sony Corp. agrees to buy Bertelsmann 50% stake in the music company and renames it Sony Music Entertainment Inc. From the BMG Chrysalis History page on their website: As part of the deal to exit the Sony BMG joint venture, Bertelsmann had acquired a subset of the Sony BMG master rights catalogue. Thus the very first revenues of BMG Rights Management came from master recordings. Does anyone know for sure if Sony kept the music rights from this period or if they belong to BMG? Was the trouble with the band and the label executives coming from the Sony side or Bertelsmann?
