I'm sort of half-half. I DO wish they were as active as Nile Rodgers in sharing thoughts, but only if the thoughts are intelligent and honest. If they're just going to publish safe, middle-of-the-road answers that they think we would like to hear, then there is no point in doing that. Similarly if they're just going to publish smart-arse replies that are okay for a very cheap laugh, and nothing else, then I don't need to hear that either. I like honesty, and meaty, thought-provoking information from the band. I also think they often give lousy (or should that be loosy ) answers to Katy, but often times the questions published are not that good to begin with. Considering the number of good questions that are allegedly sent to Katy that people mention on the forums, but never used, it appears that Ask Katy is more of a vehicle for the band to pick and choose the questions they want to answer, rather than choosing the questions that we truly would like answered. So I don't agree 100% with any of those options. I could go for the the Nile Rodgers one but it has caveats, and I could go with the last one but I don't agree that they always contain good questions. Think I'll go with the last one ...

Lousy answers but mostly because of bad questions.

I sent in a question to Katy and I was a little...disappointed...that she seemed to just flippantly dismiss it. Like, she didn't even consider passing the question along to the band. This was my question:
"Maybe I have somehow missed it along the way, but I don't think the boys have ever recorded a Christmas song apart from their participation in Band Aid's "Do They Know It's Christmas?". My question is, seeing as many contemporary artists tend to record at least one Christmas/Holiday track (and many do full Christmas albums), does Duran Duran ever consider recording one?"
"nope and i don’t think they have any desire to!" was her answer.
Just seemed so dismissive.
But I agree with coolbarn in that I long for some "honest, meaty, thought-provoking information from the band".

Or forget ask katy and if your remember back in the early Warren days we could call a number and guys from the band would leave a recording and tell us the latest info and news--before the internet--boy I miss those days--lol
