I also admire the fact that the musical style is very outsiderish--they're doing their own thing and who cares what anyone thinks. Very alternative of them. Agreed. I much prefer Duran when they ignore current styles and trends and just do their own thing, so I do appreciate that about Medazzaland myself. However I also much prefer Duran when they do rock, funk, or pop over electronic, and Medazzaland is just too electronic and artificial for me.

Favorite albums are subjective and everyone has their fave for their own reasons. That said, My fave from this list is AYNIN. Duran Duran really hit this one out of the Park. 3 years later and I still have it on heavy rotation. In the post Pop-Trash era their albums have gotten better and better so I can't wait to see what the next one brings.

I think you answered this question Sir R with the first post. But I say Other Peoples Lives (esp. the long version) is a great track, and so right in this world where other peoples lives are so much in demand. Not many songs are written about this, and it may sound like a rant towards the newspapers and tabloid junk on the surface, but I think it points towards something deeper and more disturbing in society. I guess you could call it 'Too Much Information Part 2' or something.
Anyway, every DD fan has a right to like or not like anything, and the fact they are a fan is good enough. Sure some songs have taken me years to appreciate and love, some I will never love, but I think there are many more 'lovable' songs on AYNIN.
I used to really like The Wedding Album, but I never play it now, not even in a month of Sundays (edit: except Falling Angel!), and this is hard to admit but I play Medz and even songs from RCM more than I play any Wedding songs these days, and is my second least played album after Pop Trashed. Thats not to say TWA is a bad album, because it certainly isnt, and maybe its just too familiar to me at the moment.

Isn't it odd that even though TWA is getting lots of votes, there's not many posts supporting it? Did I mention it's my favourite duran album?? There are probably a lot of people here who lurk and just didn't bother to do more than vote. I'm glad TWA is getting so many votes regardless, it will always be a very special album for me. To be honest though, the voting choices are a little too specific - already pairing an opinion with each album title. I voted anyway, but can't say I FULLY agree with any of them.
