the next 6 months will be a test of your strenght and patience. You will be longing for something new, but only find comfort in the past.
Will it be worth the wait? Were you chasing rainbows? One thing for sure, Duran Duran never answered when you asked for snippets.
So wipe the water from your face and called yourself a Duranie. Embrace yourselves, the Finest hour comes this september or when some godblessed serpent leaks the album. Until then, hang on..
I guess there will be something in the near future to take the pressure off!
Oops! Sorry! Forget it, release Reportage in stead, should be the second last answer
..for once in your life, don't base your answer on rocket science. What does your heart say.

I don't know...the band have repeatedly used the word "Grand" to describe #14...while I don't usually drink the Kool-Aid, I am of the mindset that this release will be quite special.
Long Live Duran Duran!

Might as well throw a dart at a dartboard with all those options on it.
The album might be great, average, or craptacular. Speculation now doesn't make sense; I'm sure all of us as Durannies HOPE the album is amazing, but to ask as where we expect the album will stand in Duran's catalog when all we have heard is one poor quality snippet of people talking and laughing over a new Duran Duran song, well, we might as well draw the answer at random from a hat.
I'll make this poll easier:
What do you hope from the new Duran Duran record?
A) That it is another fine release from an under-rated and under-appreciated band of musicians who can write amazing melodies with ease, who love the album and are looking forward to touring it whilst staying mentally fresh performing new material and staying physically healthy for the duration of the tour.
B) Don't need B because A has everything covered.

With DD you never know. They never repeat themselves, so the only thing you can be sure is that this album will be different than anything they've done in the past. Good or bad, but different.

I really do feel like they will finally have all the right pieces fall into place at the same time. This album will be fun to listen too and marketed properly!! It will be a huge success!

Long Live Duran Duran! Yes I've heard the word "Grand" used a lot. Which conjures up ideas of using classical instruments for some productions. Love the band to experiment with this idea and use the piano more than synths. The choir will certainly be some thing new and take the album to another level.

I couldnt decide on any of the choices. This would be their 5th comeback, or 4th if you accept Notorious as a continuation. I dont think a single will make the top 10 unless its used as a jingle on TV which ties into a product.
I hope the music is available to buy from their web site without middle men, I dont want hard-media as I've thrown all my stuff out.
edit: as for 'grand', Grand Prix, Grand Illusion. Its a Grand day we are having today. Turned out nice again.

So who the hell voted for 'preferring RCM any day'? Someone with a sense of humour obviously!! Someone with obvious taste!! No, it wasn't me. My thoughts cannot be put into any one category so I didn't place my vote. Whatever comes out, I'm sure I will like it. Duran Duran has never disappointed me!

I haven't voted because, although it's just a bit of fun, I still think it is a totally pointless poll. But the current results are interesting. Already the category that has gotten the most votes is "It will surely rank in the top 4 Duran Duran albums". Sometimes I think fans' expectations of an album become just like the band themselves - the next one is always going to be the best of all time! I know it's nice to think positively, I mean we have been doing it before every new Duran Duran release for the best part of 30 years, but don't you think if you expect too much you're going to be disappointed? (Or is it because we have seen how well Duran Duran work with Mark Ronson, and if you add Nile Rodgers at the top of his game, plus John Frusciante, plus a choir to add something interesting, then maybe it really is going to be good?) Either way try not to expect too much from the record. The more you expect, the more you can be disappointed. Let's just hope for a fantastic album where you don't feel like skipping too many tracks
