IS There Something I Should Know? entered in at #1 in the UK charts. But a bunch of there singles have been #1 in Italy and other countries.
The Wildboys was stuck at #2 for weeks in the UK because it could not dislodge that massive hit "19" by Paul Hardcastle.
ALso, pretty sure that they put out the most Top 40 hits appearing on the Billboard charts for any UK act in the 1980's. Casey Kasem mentioned that back in 1988 on the radio - that was probably the last time I listened to his Top 40 show.

In Poland: "Come Undone" & "A View to a Kill" were #1 on the most popular chart. The interesting thing is that "A Matter of Feeling" was #3.
"Someone Else Not Me" was #1 on local radio station.

HLTW was number one on the AOR chart or rock chart. This chart split in 1988 between album rock (basically classic rock artists) and modern (alternative) so likely the number one came from the alternative stations (called New Rock or New Wave or Modern Rock) playing it. Hope this makes sense and it's due to the rise in alternative rock that caused this split because not many rock stations will play someone like Eric Clapton and also the Replacements for example. Then a few years later came Nirvana and the chart made sense. Incidentally Duran Duran charted many times on this chart, the highest being Ordinary World at #2.

The worst was Notorious being kept out of #1 by that g*dd*mned crap "Shake You Down" by Gregory Abbott. Not sour grapes either...I hated that song from the first time I hear it, long before it f***ed Duran.
