on "Girls On Film"...and the other instruments too:
Here are just Simon's voice tracks:
On the right side (this being youtube), you can click on just the bass tracks, or the drum tracks, guitar, or synth. Same was done for HLTW, Rio, and AYNIN.
This is sooooo cool ! It is really trippy to hear the isolated tracks that, when combined, make up the best sounds of the 80s. Not to mention the little quirks that you can hear, such as the sound of Simon clearing his throat at 3:28 in "Rio".
Anyway, this is pretty random, but last week I dug out my AYNIN CD and can't stop listening to it ! Simon's voice sounds AMAZING on it, and I'm digging how his voice has matured and held up through the years. I got to thinking about his voice in general, how technical he is/was (or not), how he can sound both low & sexy and also high & soaring. I looked around on the 'net, where there are lots of discussions---some very technical--on his voice. It's been fun reading ! So as we all get more & more excited about the new CD, I thought you all might enjoy some of the breakdown tracks of our fave guys. Cheers !

Thanks for posting! I love this kind of stuff. I'll check it out.
Edit: Just listened to all the pieces from GOF, and I was surprised at how little synths there are in the song! It's not till the instrumental bridge that they really come in, and then stay through the last verse and chorus/outro, which I think works so much better because then they really pack a wallop in the song when they do come in. And they are not even that complicated--just a "wash".

Nice find, but these have been around for some time, uploaded 5 years ago. I'm sure they are on the threads but always good to be reminded.

Oh yes, I saw that they were older videos (or rather, song tracks). I just wanted to share because Simon's voice.
That must have taken a lot of time to do, resonantfire; very cool !
madoldlu: I agree. I thought GOF's synth tracks would be thicker.

I heard these originally came from one of those Rock Band games on the playstation (or something), so they were isolated before they made it into the game, from studio multi-tracks.
Not all of the multi-tracks are combined on one track each, some are missing,so if two reverb tracks go together you may hear only one and it may sound thin. Rogers drums sound thin because of this also.
