After Listening to the record for over a month now it just gets better and better for me
My current ratings and notes are below (note when I say it reminds me of a another dd song or two is just a certain part or feel - doesn't mean it sounds the same to other people and the song is that close)
Paper Gods 10/10 for me - one of the best DD songs ever - reminds me of New Religion/the Valley/Sin of the city and Depeche mode/Muse in parts
Last Night In the city 9/10 - great club song and fresh - kiesza is amazing - reminds me of nothing DD has done before - a hit if it was a new band
You kill me silence 9/10 this gets better and better for me - reminds me of Love Voodoo and something from Depeche mode music for The masses
Pressure off 6/10
Face for Today 6/10 - one of the most dd sounding songs here and could be on several of their past records - i like the verses but chorus lets it a tad down - great music and bass and killer David'e Rossi part
Danceophobia - 8/10 pure dance fun unlike anything DD have done before - suspect fans will love it or hate it - the chorus is insanely catchy and lindsay nails her part and it works really well - could be a single if it was a new band
What are the chances 10/10 - Big duran balled with amazing John F guitars and HUGE string part in the middle - could be the second single maybe - ordinary world of the album
Sunset Garage - 9/10 this song gets better and better for me - reminds me of violence of summer (especially SLB vocal stye) in a breezy 70's way - very different and very cool bass and beats
Change the skyline 10/10 for me - Very Different - i can't think of a DD song like it - would fit on a killers album and Jonas vocal parts sound incredible and gel with Simon like i have never heard someone do - and the nick keys are amazing
Butterfly Girl 7/10 - this track is very DD- the one song that could be on Astronaut or AYNIS easily - big female co vocals on chorus - maybe Anna Ross - john F guitars are amazing
Only in Dreams - 8/10 epic song with lots of different layers - huge funky riffs and parts of Arcadia atmospherics - could be on So red the rose/Notorious or Big thing
The Universe Alone - 9/10 - Incredible lyrics and Simon voice - reminds me of Arcadia/and a better produced Medazzland track - John F guitars incredible as the songs blows up into the choir
