Obviously most of this is prerecorded including the chorus, the Oh-Oh's and the Janelle Monet part, with some live vocals thrown on top. And where is the tamborine in the chorus coming from? If they're going to do it live then they should do it without a safety net.

You do know some of the parts are recorded? Not sure if this is because it's the first time in front of an audience--I think like 80 percent was live and maybe 20 percent recorded..fighting right now with Double D's who is telling me like 10 percent is live and 90 percent recorded--not that bad...but it's not an easy song to sing live IMO...lol

If they're going to do it live then they should do it without a safety net. That's Nick he can do anything on his keyboards--lol You mean *can't* I assume? I never noticed the pre-recording back in the days (probably as I was a bit naive as well), but listening to many live recordings across their career it's getting more and more obvious that large parts of even very simple key chords and parts are pre-recorded. Think the piano chords in The Wild Boys (you can hear this very clear on one of the TheMusic live CDs, I think it's the Vegas one, where Simon misses his cue and the whole thing gets out of sync). Almost every keyboard part from The Reflex apart from the one-finger melody parts is pre-recorded. And the whole backing track from Girl Panic of course as well as the intros from Union of the Snake, New Religion and A view to a kill (probably all the orchestra stabs in the latter, not sure, but definately the part after "feel the chill" that Nick always mimes very enthousiastically but also ridiculously). In a way it's the rest of the band playing live over Nick's backing track, taking away a lot of spontaneity in set lists that overall do not change very often either. I don't mind backing vocals such as the No-No-Notorious and Sha-na-na-na in The Reflex being prerecorded, but they could do that with the use of backing vocalists. But if Nick's not able to play his instrument properly in his 50s he will never learn, so I guess we'll have to deal with it. I like the PO live video though, but the chorus is stretching SLB's vocal range, so that will definately provide some Ordinary World moments in the next few years :-)

Some serious auto-tuning on SLB's chorus vocals. The verse stuff is also run through a pitch-shifter, but given how processed the chorus is I'd say what was heard was 80% pre-record vox (off the master), with his auto-tuned contribution mixed over the top to give live inflection. Given the way the auto-tune would be set, SLB could belch into the mic and it would come out perfectly pitched, moving through all the right dips and soars.

At about 3.52 on the video, Roger misses the snare, could this be why Simon and John have big smiles on their faces?

honestly, this video is embarrassing. there is no balls, roger sounds as if he is hitting the drums like an 80 yr old man, loads of pre-recorded vocals, the guitar sounds aweful... i wish the reunion never happened

I am wondering if this performance is the foundation for the rumored video release. It was a professional recording, use of backing tracks, etc.

I hope not...makes no sense if Nile and Janelle are not in it?
Does anyone know if the remixes and or video are dropping tomorrow?
