I have to admit I'm a little let down after listening to the album for several days now.I felt like the songs released were pretty strong except LNITC.I really enjoy PaperGods,YKMWS,WATC,PO is ok.The only other song IMO off the rest that lives up to the initial releases is TUA.

It's certainly not a Let Down to Me.

Fans seem pretty divided. I definitely fall into the "disappointed" camp. I can't say I outright hate it, as I do enjoy moments, but overall I feel like it's a big step in the wrong direction. Basically, they made a modern dance pop record. The album has a very cold / calculated feel too it. Most of it was recorded with drum loops and synth bass, adding to it's not-so-organic sound. I'm not a fan of this and most of the fans who dislike the album seem to not like it for the same reasons.

^^^^^ I totally agree and feel the word " cold" describes it well.
I feel the electronics don't show case the members talents either.

They did modern pop album and if they are happy with it, they will probably make something different in the future. "Norwegian death folk", anyone?

For me it's not that it's an "electronic" album that puts me off to all but two tracks... it's the fact that it's an electronic pop tween disco dance album, and not a good one at that. I wouldn't mind it so much if it was actually done well. And for the record before people throw a hissy fit - it's my opinion. But then again people should already understand that & having to post "imo" on every post shouldn't be necessary. At all.

It is a let down from what I was hoping for, but I'm not their musical director :-) It's a good album in a "mass-audience" style that doesn't suit me.
However, I like it more each time I listen, even LNITC, and particularly YKMWS. And I love Sunset Garage, which counts among my favorite DD songs.
RCM and Astronaut were more of a disappointment by comparison. It's newness trumps AYNIN for now, but not sure how long that will last.

Big time, for similar reasons to what others have documented earlier. I also think that once the honeymoon period wears off, this album will be disliked by the fan-base even more than Red Carpet Massacre which feels positively organic compared to this mess. Where is the Box Full O' Honey on Paper Gods?

I don't think it's a letdown at all. In my opinion, it's the best the band have released in a long while.

Where is the Box Full O' Honey on Paper Gods? Interesting honeymoon period mention. Anyone that was on the message boards for RCM...well everyone loved it when it came out. Then the ground swell started...'we must hate this, we must hate this'. And everyone started to hate it. RCM has more songs on it that I don't move past when they come on - than AYNIN.
