found this track last night while searching the youtubes. i think this has a very early Duran vibe and think some of you folks might appreciate it.

I loved this song. Kinda old but very fun. NYPC hasn't released anything recently though. I wish they would...

i had never heard of them before - but, i'm in America so maybe that's part of the problem? i ordered the album and it arrived today. so far i am totally digging it. if anyone has any suggestions for other modern bands with this kind of vibe, i'm all over it.

Do you know that 7 years ago we had a thread asking what direction would you like to see for DD13? And Ice Cream by the New Young Pony Club was one of the options (and the one I actually voted for, because I loved the song at the time and it reminded me of vintage Duran Duran with a modern sound). Anyway here is the thread I'm talking about: duranduranboard.proboards.com/thread/17646/duran-durans-new-musical-directionThe most popular option was "Mark Ronson brass heavy but dancey". With AYNIN we definitely got Ronson, a bit of dancey, but no brass. Next album I would like "Mark Ronson brass heavy but funky", or "Mark Ronson rock guitar and funky". Feel free to add plenty of Nile Rodgers as well. Two out of Duran's last three albums have been electronic, which isn't my preferred genre, so I'll be happy to have a spell from electronic for a while

NYPC is a welcomed breath of fresh air for me after having listened to nothing but PG for a month. it's nice to hear music with real instruments again, and the lyrics are mostly cheeky and fun. the music on Fantastic Playroom flows naturally compared to PG, thus further illuminating for me PG often forced and overworked nature.
