I have 3 copies (still sealed) of RCM on vinyl. Two of them have the catalogue number on the spine on the top & say Erika records on the spine at the bottom. My third copy however has blanks where this info should be. Can anyone tell me if theirs is the same or if i have a non official version??? P.s the one that is has the blank info on the spine is numbered 540/2000 if that makes any difference whereas the other two copies with info on spine are numbered over 1000. Thanks for any info..... and i have also asked Katy on the Duran website too. Read more: duranduranboard.proboards.com/thread/36582/red-carpet-massacre-vinyl?page=1#ixzz4U0CZwGTh

I have 2 copies plus I am holding 2 for a friend. All 4 are over 1000 of the series and have the catalog number, title, and record company on the spine.

Mine is numbered 794 and has only the title on the spine. This is interesting...

Neither of mine have anything on the spine other than the title - 0110 & 0477.
0110 i'd picked up on eBay as i thought i'd missed out on the Crewe offer, whilst 0477 & either 0476 or 0478 (as i sold one of them a couple of years ago) came from Crewe with a RCM tour book, tour badge & cake each.
i assume that my cakes are either lemon or vanilla, as they're a pale yellow colour... ...& i know some people got brown (chocolate?) ones... ...but i've no idea if there were other versions/flavours as i've never seen any come up for sale.

Thanks everyone. So it would appear (so far) that any numbered under 1000 have just the title of the record & any numbered 1000 through 2000 have the cat number, title & record label on the spine. Appreciate all the input guys.

Looks like the initial run was actually only 1,000. They must have decided to increase the number being offered and somewhere along the lines caught the mistake of the lack of info and corrected it before further printings.

I believe this to be correct. If my memory serves me correctly, the inital run was 1000 and sold out rather swiftly. Demand was pretty high and another 1000 were pressed. I seem to recall there being a bit of an uproar over it at the time. I have three copies myself. Two first press with just the title on the spine, and one second press with catalog no. I've owned five copies of this over the years, two of which I gifted to friends. Funny, but the last copy I bought off ebay from someone that didn't know what they had (or didn't care) for a buy it now price of $29.95.

Just find it strange that they just put the name on the first 1000, and then put all the info on the other 1000.
