I've wondered for the last 30 years if somewhere out there, there is a complete remix of the song "Proposition", the version that is heard on the European version of "Notoriousaurus Rex" Anyone?

The "Notoriousaurus Rex" including the "Proposition" bit originally came from a US promo-casstte in 1987 ... "unavailable elsewhere; until the remastered reissue of the Notorious album in 2010"A dear fellow told me ages ago that she was in contact with Mark Berry ... there must have been a tape with a full "Proposition" remix, but most probably someone threw a big box of his (Mark Berry's) old tapes away.

I had that promo cassette...it was called Brave Music For a New World or something like that. I ordered it from Record Runner in 1990 not knowing about the Proposition bit. Needless to say I was surprised as hell well I got to that part of the remix when I played it!!!!

There is no official full version out there, but I know that there was a fan made full version done.
As for an official full version not being available, I have some reservations about that. Let's step back and stop to think about this. The person who did the Notoriousaurus Rex mix (Tuta Aquino) HAD to have had access to that remix, correct? I mean, that mix was comprised of various songs. So, the credits for the remix read as:
Edited By [With Edits By] – Jose "Chep" Nunez*, The Hit Squad (2), The Latin Rascals, Omar Santana, Tuta Aquino Featuring [Featuring Mixes By] – Daniel Abraham, Justin Strauss, Curtis/Mantronik*, Larry Levan, The Latin Rascals, Mark S. Berry*, Murray Elias, Nile Rodgers Remix [Collaged By] – Tuta Aquino
Since this was a collage of songs, Tuta would had to have had access to these full remixes and not just a "snippet" to work with for The Proposition bit. Maybe Mark Berry lost his personal copy of that remix, but I have a suspicion that it's still locked away at Capitol Records.

I was the dear fellow Ansgar makes reference to! (Thanks Ansgar! ) I contacted Tuta many a year ago and he was very helpful. Unfortunately, he did not keep the full mix (it was a long time ago!) I then contacted Mark who was also a lovely person to speak to. As Ansgar hints, his big box of old mixes have also been lost. I then created the fan made mix (basically a looping of the surviving mix) - Mark praised it! If it does still exist then I suspect it would be in the EMI vaults.

It was also featured on the 1987 'Master Mixes' album right? Just called 'Master Mix' on that one.

The longer Remix w/ 'Proposition' is running 8:17

Thnx Ansgar....learned something today So the bit with 'Proposition' featured for the very first time on the 2010 remaster deluxe?

Commercially, yes, I believe 2010 was the first time it was released. The cassette promo I mentioned above that I owned was this one: duranduran.wikia.com/wiki/Brave_Music_For_A_New_WorldI sold it on ebay a few years ago, but recently bought it back as I found another copy, and I actually came out ahead lol. Interesting that Colin Thurston is listed as the producer. It must be pretty rare, its not even on Discogs.
