Just listened to a couple of your Bittersweet Machines tracks, your vocals remind me of Simon Le Bon. I really don't understand why you haven't got more views on YouTube, because those songs are pure class and deserve more recognition. In a previous post you mentioned Pro Tools, what instruments or vst's are you using ? Keep up the good work Matt. WOW! Thanks so much. As you can imagine being mentioned in the same breath as Simon LeBon is high praise. I do partner with a very talented producer that handles all the technology and nob twisty things that could give you way more insight than me but we're using Logic for the instrumental tracking and Pro Tools for the vocal comps, editing, mixing. As for why so few views on you tube (lack of traction)... that's the million dollar question for all independent artists. In the words of DD "I'm just one firecracker in a big bonfire". There are so many talented artists out there all vying for the general public's ever shrinking attention. Unless you just have a very magical product/song (ie Ordinary World) or a very large promotional microphone (ie Label support)... it's very easy to get lost in all the white noise. I once had a record label tell me " you write great songs but you don't write hit songs". I was confused and it crushed me at the time but I totally get what he was saying. so it's also very likely that i have so few views b/c my songs (while good) just aren't good enough to compete and cut through. All i can control is writing the best songs that i can. Although one hit song would be nice. thanks again!
