hello duran fans,
i'm glad to be on the board. it's been a long road.
i've been lurking for a year or more, and somewhere
along the way, i tried to register for the board.
i got the proboard message, and it said to wait
for a response. ok, so a week went by...
then a few more weeks. then a month,
and then 2 months...
i thought something was wrong, then i thought
just wait, but nothing happened.
i thought i would try again, a week went by,
and then another, and then 3 more, and then
a month, and then 2 more..... i gave up....
i still came to the board every week, and checked
on the threads (this was around the time paper gods
came out). still no news, nothing.. but it was fun
reading all the comments, and threads.
this was february 2018, i tried again every month, since
then, and again in march, i gave up for a few more months.
then july came, and i tried again. nothing. i asked a member
on this board to help me out, and he got a message from a
moderator saying that there wasn't any problem.
4 more months passed with nothing. today, i finally got approved.
so yeah, it's been over a year of waiting. but i'm glad it worked out.
even if it didn't, i would have still come back to check on it, since
the 40th anniversary is coming around.
i was into duran since 'rio', and love their first album too. i've seen
them twice, once in 1993, and once after that when the original lineup
returned. i have listened to all their albums, and singles, but don't really
care much for the latter ones after seven and the ragged tiger.
one last fun fact, the very first twelve inch i bought was 'union of the snake' US 12 inch,
i think it started my music hobby. i have at least 2000-3000 records, and just as many
cd's, with at least a few hundred from duran duran.
i have a reprint, of the rio 'nagel' print in my room, and lots of other books, and
collectible items.
so i'm glad they're still around, and lots of fans here talking about them.
