How much would you think a copy of the promo Election Day Cryptic Mix is worth if it’s in VG condition?

How much would you think a copy of the promo Election Day Cryptic Mix is worth if it’s in VG condition? well, considering that it was included on the deluxe reissue of So Red The Rose, not as much as it had commanded in the past. then again, value is subjective to the collector.

Yes it was also released on the Heaven’s Eyes promo but this is the only vinyl release and as far as I am aware this promo was limited to 400? Does anyone have any comments on its $ value or would anyone consider selling a copy?

[Edit]
& just found the order from 2007 when i picked mine up (again listed under the old name), & it cost me £34.99 // £38.25 inc UK postage... So clearly it was worth at least that for me.
As redmumba rightly says, it's largely about the value you put on owning a copy - but naturally you can only ever buy the copies that are for sale.

& so imho, unless there's a release which is incredibly simple (ie there was only one version released anywhere in the world) i really don't believe that we can ever assume that the history is reliable on there.
180 Euros (or £160) is a bit ludicrous though imho.

That has never happened to me. I also would consider it a small chance in this case because it's a single sided promo. You have to be pretty blind to mistake that promo for another one. There's only one single sided promo for this release.

Clearly you've been lucky then.
Yeah, simply as a recent example, i picked up what was supposed to be a German test press a couple of weeks ago - making sure that i commented to the seller that it was the test press i was after...
...one of the standard German releases turns up, so i contact the seller & give a direct link to the photo showing what the white label looks like...
…& he then sends me an alt standard German release.
So, forgetting the hassle at my end (i actually got both a refund & was told to keep both records so it was more the annoyance at the time), that purchase will now show up in the history as a sale price for the test press.
Likewise, the number of times i've looked through rarer items for sale & the descriptions actually make it clear that they're actually selling a completely different releases or they're woefully incomplete copies or whatever is very significant.
So part of the problem is that, unlike eBay, sellers typically aren't adding their own pictures; so as a buyer you can't check...
...& oft times they seem to simply stick a pin in one of several options that seem vaguely correct because they simply don't know enough about what they're trying to sell & the alts.
Hence i personally have almost no faith in the price history on Discogs - &, unless an item's really simple, very little confidence that the correct item will actually turn up unless i very clearly check with the seller...
…& even then...
[Edit]
Just re-read that having posted & it sounds like i'm really cross & am arguing with you.
Yeah, i am actually really cross - but it's got nothing to do with this topic whatsoever... So please don't take it the wrong way.
Obviously everyone's mileage varies - & my intent was simply about explaining why i don't trust anything on Discogs to be accurate.

I have the same experiences on discogs as Tim describes.
I also saw some UK seller offereing a testpress of a German release and initially replied he thought he listed it correctly and obviously he didnt even care to double check since he got the standard pressing. I usually ask sellers to doublecheck of ask them if i can see pics of the actual item. Also, many of the sellers say they couldnt find the exact pressing. I can imagine this when you have loads of stuff to list and you dont have the time to search for the correct pressing.
Altough i use discogs frequently, it is absolutely not a site i rely on for information, because a lot of info is not true.

Yeah, Discogs can be tricky at times when a seller lists an item they "think" matches the entry. The sellers really need to look at every entry and list their item in the correct entry for sale. At least on Ebay you pretty much know what you're going to get based on the actual picture or scan they use (and hopefully it's not a stock photo or image lifted from Discgos - I've seen descriptions and images I've uploaded on to Discogs used on Ebay).
