Andy had lunch with Nile and Richard (keyboard player in Chic Org) in London.
So it was not a bump but more a meeting i guess.... ;-)

Let Andy play on 1 or 2 songs like Frusciante did. Let Nile join them in the studio for that old DD magic! That would be a dream, especially in light of the 40th anniversary.

When Andy arrived for the Notorious sessions, he played on a number of songs (Hold Me, Matter of Feeling, Vertigo definitely).
In Andy's book - he revealed that he arrived at Air Studios and found all the band were not there as they were out late night before for Grace Jones' birthday. What I would be interested in knowing is which 3 songs Nick Rhodes and Andy Taylor worked on in early 86. Anyone remember this interview with Nick Rhodes in 1986: Attachment Deleted

Anyone remember this interview with Nick Rhodes in 1986: View AttachmentThanks for posting that! I don't quite remember ever reading that, but who knows! It's been 33 years! It must have been really early 86. I mean, it sounds like it was still going to be the 5 of them coming together! Does anyone even remember that point in DD history when the 5 of them were still going to come back and do the 4th album together? Thinking back to that innocent time makes me a little sad. In fact, that little interview makes me sad in thinking that Nick still thought everything was ok and the band would get back together to write another album. Wow, that timeline is amazing! Thanks for posting! I went through and read it and wow! Seeing it all laid out like that is incredible. I'm more amazed at how quickly the record was written and pressed, particularly with all that upheaval. And even more amazed that the album itself was not finished at the time the Notorious single came out. But within a month they were able to have Simon finish writing lyrics and doing vocals(!), finish mixing, add Warren's part, and get it pressed and printed in about 3 weeks! All told, the album took about 7 months: April through November.

I would love if Nile could convince the other four Durans to have Andy back with the band.

Personally I would have found this moment awkward, like bumping into an old workmate who was fired! Andy wasn't fired
