Interesting he keeps the DD content to a minimum. I guess he carries some wounds, but I dont blame him for making the site personal to him and his work. Great to see that photo of Ibiza, a paradise. I never use Forcebook unless I absolutely have to, but credit where its due, it is the most common social media platform.

I don't expect Andy to be heavy on the Duran content on his own FB page - and because he hasn't - I don't see how that can be interpreted as him having a chip on his guitar shoulder..
On his FB page, he's mentioned Duran, just as he has mentioned Nile Rodgers, Bernard, Tony, Robert Palmer, The Power Station, working with The Ting Tings and his own past/current work. His sudden appearance on FB allows him to communicate his newly completed album and his plans to play live.
On his Instagram page he has name dropped Duran and John Taylor, specifically, quite a bit.
One thing that explains his absence from social media for so long is that he has spent the last few years enjoying time with his grandson.

And honestly, why would he be DD dropping when he's moved on from that part of his life and it isn't an active part. Sure, he might revisit from time to time, and that's fine …
It's strange that people seem to expect more DD content from Andy than say Warren or anyone else who used to form a part of the band.

After all he's played on ONLY 4 complete DD studio albums & not on the other 10
However when I look at his history on this Facebook page it's insulting not only to DD themselves but us fans too that he mentions :
Duran Duran from April 1980 - 1986
Doesn't he recognise his Astronaut contribution?
Interestingly he's got Power Station down from 1983
Trust me, I don't hate the guy, but just wish he'd admit that the drugs most likely together with his temper/attitude have resulted in him no longer being in DD.
& not the lack of management arranging his visa, his family's possible mental health issues, father dying, having Timbaland as producer for DD etc being at fault.
Which one of us hasn't dealt with either one or more of the above? Yet I know in my case and many others I'm sure, we still carry on & aim to please. Its called "compromise".
DD as a whole ought to have been a BIGGER THING for him.

I didnt expect much DD material. It is clear he has moved on from the band, and he wants to concentrate on the here and now, his solo work from 86 onwards, and memories from his career in general. I didnt expect anything less from Andy, as he has been quite clear about it. We all know what he went through, so why would be post anything about DD?, just as I wouldnt post anything about my ex-boss or ex-wife. Fans say sadness or frustration are "a chip on his shoulder", thats just not fair. He mentions Duran in the Timeline, and also Rio, so its clear he doesnt hate the band. But looking at the timeline it reads like: "Joined Duran, Released Rio, Got Married, Left Duran". You cant argue he loves the band either. I say thats ok, and lets hear some music.

Kinda agree with you & kinda don't ! You don't have say anything about a previous boss, umm coz DD I don't believe were his boss however one does put on thier resume that they worked from then to whenever in Andy's case dissing a studio album and hence its tour is disrespectful to diss that actual fact. In in a way it's disrespectful to anyone who "saw something" in the Astro project........like me. AT to dismiss this is simply being careless and suggests an attitude of not giving a "s h i t" in addition isn't it the fans that put DD including AT where he once was or is today? Umm on his face book page he's got that he was in power station from 83 ? Err In November of 83 I saw AT playing with DD so I'm not sure what the Powerstation released or if they toured infact in 83 ? but I do know that he met tony thompson from CHIC (who was playing drums for David Bowie on his Australian tour in November of 83) & hence they got talking and I guess the first seeds for PS were sown AT ought to be proud of his efforts on the Astro LP, it's consequent tour including the reunion tour & not diss the actual fact that he got the opportunity to do it.

ATR i understand it seems really weird but i think you need to keep in mind that he probably forgot the exact timeline of things since many years gone by. We fans remember every little bit they ever done and said in interviews and nobody should tell us when records were released but for him it was 'just' a job. I really dont blame him for not having some years mentioned correctly. Plus my best guess is he setup his fscebook page by himself and not by a 'Katy' or someone else.

Ok then, so because he set it up his FB page himself he forgot that he recorded Astronaut? which wasn't that long ago in my book Anyway the thing is, it ain't my problem, but his considering he forgot about the reunion, the Astro LP and consequent tour I'm just saying for a bonafide guitarist it's disappointing. Heres the the other thing if all the DD members had his attitude, eg quit when the going got tough and went to live on an island we wouldn't have a DD...............now would we !
