Listening to BBC Radio2 and they are playing a mix and talking about boxset being released for band's 40th. Do not let down, guys.

Here is the travesty Universal is releasing for Simple Minds' 40th anniversary: 40: Best of 1979 - 2019Like anyone needs another compilation from this band (which is one of my favorites mind you.) Just one new song (a cover no less) and so much wasted time/space on each of 3 CDs. Pass, thank you! We know Warner will release some kind of compilation for the DD 40th, but please make it comprehensive. Some time ago I made a theoretical track listing for a 2 CD singles career-spanning compilation which just managed to fit all the singles (if using the edited versions.) And yes I know the licensing issues involved but 3 songs from Sony and 1 from Hollywood/Disney is not impossible. Three CDs would be better because that way they could include country specific single/promo releases like LNoE (Japan), AMoF (Brazil) and FF (France). If they really want to entice diehard fans like us, throw in a couple of new songs and a "lost" track from Reportage.

I would say there is no need for a new compilation from DD either. Greatest will do for me and most fans and non-fans I think. Especially since they only released about three singles in the last 15 years or so (Falling down, Boys keep swinging and Girl panic). The rest were just album tracks being made available through itunes and what have you.
And do we 'know' Warner will release a new GH album? Really?

Coz
DYBIS, OOMM, FD, AYNIN, GP & PO
are all missing, just to name a few !

Here's a hypothetical track listing for an expanded 3 CD "Greatest" compilation using some country specific and promo only singles to get the total to 48 songs. Some albums like TWA would be over represented so you have to pick and choose here and there. If they included every music video through LNITC on DVD/Blu-Ray, I for one would add it to my collection.
Planet Earth Careless Memories Girls on Film My Own Way Hungry Like the Wolf Save a Prayer Rio Is There Something I Should Know? Union of the Snake New Moon on Monday The Reflex Wild Boys A View to a Kill Notorious Skin Trade Meet el Presidente A Matter of Feeling I Don’t Want Your Love All She Wants Is Do You Believe in Shame? Leave a Light On Pressure Off What Are the Chances? Last Night in the City

For a complete singles collection it includes too many dubious tracks. A matter of feeling for instance got a lot of airplay in South-America apparently, but was never a single.

I included "A Matter of Feeling" because of this write up on the band's Collector's Corner webpage about Brazil: DURAN DURAN IN BRAZILSpecifically: Additionally, prior to the two 1988 live shows, Harvest/EMI Odeon issued a radio promo single to get audiences excited for the upcoming performances. The label chose “A Matter Of Feeling,” and they managed to get the track featured on the soundtrack of a very popular telenova, “Mandala,” as well. Funny enough, in Brazil, “A Matter Of Feeling” is included on “Decade” in favour of “All She Wants Is,” which was on all other international releases.

I know the promo story of MoF but has anyone seen it? No pictures exist, it is not listed on discogs etc. It just substantiates my point that it was never a single, nobody could purchase it other than on the album. Why not include Anyone out there then? That was also released as a promo. Or Big Thing of which a 7” version exists.
