& I sure am glad that NR isn't Rick Wakeman coz if he was? I'd frequently visit the Yes fan board and listen to their music way more than I do DD's
& I'm sure glad he ain't Vince Clark either coz again, if he was? I'd frequently visit either and/or Depeche Mode's, Yazoo's, and/or Assembly's fan boards including listen to thier music way more than I do DD's
Must admit even tho I enjoy some of the above mentioned artists work and I trully do love the "some" of it, they got nothing on DD considering DD is my band O,
If they did have they the same effect on me? (you guessed it) I'd be on their fan boards 90% of the time and not on this one !
Just saying !

Was there a different sound when MNDR played when Nick had to leave the tour / was she playing live?

Was there a different sound when MNDR played when Nick had to leave the tour / was she playing live? Nothing sounded different, I saw her play with the group 4-5 times. She may have added a few bits to White Lines, but she pretty much stuck to what Nick instructed her in my opinion.

I think its important to play the videos in order.
First video he praises Nick for his playing. Second vid, he says why Nick is great. Third vid, he reprimands fans for their comments.

Yes, we should only praise him. No criticism allowed. And because he is a multi-millionaire and is often seen near a set of keyboards, he must be an excellent player too.
If you go to a mechanic to have your car repaired and see that he makes a mess and is not able to repair it, despite that mechanic being on all the advertisement photos of the of the store you are not entitled to complain too, because the man is probably a better mechanic than 99% of the people.

I certainly have no beef against Nick. To me he will always be a 4000% superstar, and no amount of critique will change my mind on that.
He is the glue which held the band together from day 1, and he is the only member to stick with the band, and try to keep everything going, even in the dark days, when he was writing the lyrics and the music. He has been the inspiration behind many things we take for granted, such as the opening of Rio, and most of the samples used in the Decadance songs were his clips and soundbytes. Arcadia was basically Nick, with Simon singing and extra percussion. Every Duran song includes Nicks layers and landscapes, which has become part of the signature DD sound, and today layers and overdubs of technical landscapes are the norm. Who could forgot his intro to Night Boat, the Chauffeur or the unique intro sound of Union of the Snake.
Nick is a great asset to the group and I dont see how anyone could leave him out or say he is not worthy on stage. Famously New Order came on stage, pressed one button to play Beach Buggy, and walked off again. Now thats lazy. At least Nick wears great suits.

Nick is playing! I'm convinced 2.40 in...lol I don’t get you guys. This is a clip with a fully pre-recorded synths backing track. Not.

It's not fair to criticize someone for something that he isn't and never wanted to be. Synthesizers, not keyboards. That's a big difference. Do not compare an artist to a craftsman.

Hey guys, what's the problem with Nick? It doesn't have to be a keyboard virtuoso, but 99.9% of DD's creation is also from his head. That's important, isn't it?
