Too good to be real Yes, not even the songs themselves but the amount. 25 ! Duran typically plays sets just under 90 min, so that would mean about half of that amount.

With a new album coming out later this year (supposedly), I doubt they are going to tour just for the 40 year anniversary. We know they hate looking backwards, and from their perspective they have already done a “Greatest” tour. As much as I would love to see a “40 Years of Hits” tour (oh wait, that’s coming from my other favorite group Simple Minds), each DD tour cycle is pretty much a hits parade anyways with a handful of new songs sprinkled throughout. The most I would let myself wish for from them would be singles performed from each album. They could make it work in their typical 20 song set list including 4-5 songs from the new album. For variety, they could interchange between hits on their bigger albums per night to satisfy fans who go to more than one concert in a row. Could look something like this:
Sunrise A View to a Kill All You Need Is Now [New Song] Planet Earth OR Girls on Film Serious Ordinary World OR Come Undone [New Song] Someone Else Not Me Notorious Pressure Off [New Song] Falling Down I Don’t Want Your Love OR All She Wants Is Electric Barbarella [New Song] Wild Boys White Lines
Encore: Union of the Snake OR The Reflex Hungry Like the Wolf OR Rio

Happily there is virtually no chance of having to endure Serious or Someone else not me.
It will be the usual ratio of two thirds hits to one third new songs/ odd album track

We know they hate looking backwards, and from their perspective they have already done a “Greatest” tour. Duran's Greatest tour was 20 years ago, did only target the UK, and involved only two of the original members. Doing a greatest hits tour is just a label to attract more people. For example, both Pet Shop Boys and Kim Wilde will embark on a Greatest Hits tour later this year. Well, I have attended recent 'regular' shows from both artists and can tell you that they always play their greatest hits. PSB also have a new album out next week, yet the tour is a GH one.

This is where a stale setlist comes back to haunt them. What good is a anniversary tour when virtually all previous shows are mostly that? (Yes, the setlist debate is stale as well)
