This is what DDMgmt should have been pushing for a song on upcoming GTA game. www.bbc.com/news/newsbeat-67635381They need a song on a cool video game and song like Tom Petty's Love is a Long Road for GTA 6 coming out in 2025! That is the kind of thing to get you streams... ‘Should have been’? The game isn’t out and you criticise the management for something. Do we know how the songs get picked?

A couple of points to note on this topic.
Firstly, you cannot simply ask a Game or Movie to use your song. If it was that simple, every musician would be a millionaire.
It costs circa £50,000 to Licence a song plus a percentage of Income generated by the game/movie. So for a movie or a successful game the profits can be astronomical to the musician. But they will want to use (Licence) a song that adds to their product, that generates interest, and that is relevant.
It can be life changing. Just one example would be Sophie Ellis Bextor. Her song from 2002 was probably in hibernation for the rest of lifetime, until, a rather alternative movies licenced the song and that closing 'scene' became very high profile. The song is now a global hit (again). Sophie is touring America for the first time ever! And has signed a new record deal.
When it works, it really works. But.... To have your song used in the right way that truly touches people all over the world at the same time, is one in a million! Whether you are Metallica or Sophie, you have to be in the right place at the right time and all the stars have to align.

Probably not! Game isn't out yet and Tom Petty stream up 3,000% for the song! Imagine when the game finally comes out! Yes, I do cause I knew someone who made video games and they got soliticians from Musicians/ mgmt asking for their songs to be on video games all the time. I'm going to venture DDMgmt aren't even trying.

Andre is it the same friend who told you they were gonna be on the Grammys? How old are you? You come off as a child! Am I right? I must have really pissed you off during Lizard king days! And duranfan82 are you a hater, an instigator, a troublemaker and really don't like anyone but yourself? Class clown right? And for the record..it was a rumor and if you did know Nick did attend a Grammy party for Ronson and I am pretty sure he was in the house at Grammy night...you do know the rumor was for presenting...I never said it was for performing! Get educated please!

Small potatoes for licensing for a GTA franchise.it's the # 2 sold most game after Minecraft...many creators and producers of the games are already fans of said artists and it makes that much easier. Yes, timing but not highly impossible.

1st i never understand why people in this forum have a touchy reaction when somebody, like in this instance throws the idea of using a DD song in a game or movie. Good idea. Happens with a lot of Artists all the time. 2nd. we are getting criticised and we criticise others all the time. thats not a bad thing at all unless one cant handle criticism. 3rd where is an Elite Duranie when you need one.

Not as far fetched as you think..key is PR and Mgmt...not sure if they are even trying..I don't think they are trying hard enough or at all: Sometimes DD has to take a cut for license fee to get streaming--it depends what do they want upfront and what will lead to more profits down the road..more streaming means more fans might might mean more exposure and possible more record sales down the road. All I know that Spotify for DD is weak. Should have more than 8.9 million listeners by far with their catalogue. Easily..fluctuates around 8 million--today 9 million because of Invisible.. Invisible at # 4 right now: creators.airbit.com/career-building-hub/how-to-get-your-music-featured-in-video-games
