I was just doing some work around my home, so I threw Live From London in the DVD player...and as I was glancing at it, what struck me was how thrilled they seemed with it all, how much they interacting, and especially how alive and into it all Andy looked.
And it was only, what, almost four years ago?...Andy gone, an album that's feeling a bit like it's in limbo, egos rearing their ugly heads. Things have changed. Sigh.

Yeah, it is a bit sad, isn't it? At that time they probably thought Astronaut was going to sell a ton of copies and they'd be on top of the world again. I can't blame them for looking at four (or was it five?) sold-out Wembley shows and gangs of fans coming to the fan signings and thinking the reunion was going to be a smashing success. They probably still don't know how they could have such an amazing response and still not sell very many albums.
But the DVD is a lot of fun still! Andy is definitely having a blast!
I think the concert was in 2004, wasn't it? Gotta go check my copy...

It was filmed on april the 30th and may the 1st 2004. It's been a while since i last watched it. It holds so many happy happy memories for me. I am just really sad that things didn't work out how the band and probably us devoted fans had expected...and watching how excited we all were on that DVD...makes me even sadder now.

Although Live in London was the start of my renewed Duraniehood (is that a word? LOL), because it was the first dvd i bought after years of neglect (sorry guys), i try to not feel sad and think of this as just another period in Duran Duran history... (which is difficult - for only today i was going through my Duran stuff and thinking about everything that is happening.) BUT i can't wait for the new album and would love to go see them live again. So they'd better get on with that

To me, Andy looked like he was enjoying himself more than anyone. He was all over the stage and having a load of fun and he did say that now he was back, he wasn't f___ing going anywhere.
It's really sad how things change so quick, it was only about a year to year and a half since Live from London was filmed that he left.
It will be interesting to see if there is a backlash in the album sales.

I guess it depends on how much of him is on the new album-if it's Andy-heavy, some of his fans might buy it just to have his final DD contribution. If his stuff is rerecorded or rewritten totally, that'll be a different story!

sadly I have not watched the whole thing yet. I think I only watched the first 3 songs. Some day I will pop in the DVD and watch it.
