I have been very busy lately offline and that's why I haven't had the opportunity to log on here sooner. I want everyone to know that I am deeply sorry for posting the link of the court papers on the board. I did delete the link shortly thereafter this thread started. Please accept my humble apology. OMG! I can NOT believe this is so easily listed on a public directory, can you? It's VERY unfortunate that these private papers are so easily available to the public! Are you not from the U.S., then? All court records are open to public view. I was surfing through "Nick Rhodes" listings and came across the records, too. It made me sad. As for pics of the kids- for safety reasons, I wouldn't want recent pictures of underage kids posted anywhere. But celebrities often trot out the whole clan for holiday specials, charity events, and women's magazines. If a star's child is over 18, there's nothing wrong with posting the occasional pic. I just don't want the kid's address, or any other personal info to come up.

Court papers are public record, but there's a definite lack of tact and respect to go around posting links to them. I know they're out there but I choose not to look them up out of respect for an event that was painful, messy, and NONE OF MY BUSINESS. If I ever have to go through a divorce or other legal problem, I sure as fcku wouldn't want people Googling either. I wouldn't look up a friend's divorce, much less Nick Rhodes. Mentality of people obsessive enough to want to is part of the problem that Duran is slamming in RCM.
I don't have a problem with talking about the kids when they're photographed at public events with their parents or if they choose a public hobby/career, but I also believe that public figures still need to have private lives. They entertain us enough and deserve to have their privacy respected when they're "off the clock". I wouldn't want my boss calling me and demanding things of me on the weekend so I see no difference where celebs are concerned.

This is a *really* old thread. While it's nice that the poster apologized, bumping something this old just stirs it up again, imo.

Goodness - the way the world is today is ridiculous, can't do this, can't do that, privacy laws etc - people are nosey and want to see/know stuff, it's just life - I agree that if she is at a public event and gets photographed and it is plasted all over the place then so what - I wouldn't care if my pic got posted everywhere - although I'm sure people wouldn't be bothered, but life is too short to worry - who knows anyway - she might be enjoying it.

It must be a chick thing. Been a rabid fan for 25 years and it never crosses my mind - to wonder about their children, where they live, what they look like, when their birthdays are... Why do you even care? Just dig the band and the music. The kid thing is creepy. As a woman, I'm not interested in this crap either. I don't care who the kids or wives are. I don't care where any of them live, or anything besides music. This isn't a "chick" thing, this is a psychotic rabid obsessed fan thing. Gender doesn't matter. I agree with the people who said having a website devoted to the kids is creepy. It's one thing to have photographs at an event. It's also acceptable when it comes to the children in the public eye (Andy Jr for an example). Another thing for anything private. I've never understood the people who are this interested in a celebrity. I don't watch any of the gossip entertainment shows.

Why do you even care? Just dig the band and the music. The kid thing is creepy. Excuse me but it is NOT a chick thing. There are a few male duranies out there I've known that can be worse than the female ones in their enthusiasm for searching and finding out information on the band. Because they feel they HAVE to know. Please instead of saying something like that could you consider that not all of us are like that. I think I'm just a bit offended because I am not one of those extreme rabid fans and I dont care to be lumped in with them. I dont care what their pets names are or where they officially reside or anything like that. I know only what I think I need to know and more crap that I really dont want to know. Although, it's been either posted or put in an article so now I know about it. I dont care. I enjoy this band for their music and their talent.

I know a couple of guys who are 'obsessed' in the true sense of the word with Nick. In highschool they had to have HIS hair colour, cut, clothes style, etc. It hasn't abated throughout the years.
So no, it's not JUST a chick thing!

I can think of a few male Duranies who are extremely obsessed. None post here, but they were on DDM. There was the obnoxious male fan when I met them. he kept trying to get in front of us to get 7&TRT folders signed. I believe he's one of the obsessed male fans I mention.

Well good for you. I'm just saying I have never known a guy fan that memorized their kids birthdays, sent them presents, collected pics, joined their Myspace pages... It is good to get offended every once in a while...keeps the blood pumping Be happy you've not known any. The ones I've know are just freaky!!! Since I'm getting old now, I guess it's a good thing my blood gets pumping once in awhile! ;D
