k i'll play
Name: Nicole Current Locale: New York City
I've been a technical fan (as in spending money on the band) since 93, but swear I've been a fan since I was 2 singing the DOO DOOs in HLTW... And around age 8 screaming I Don't Want YOur Love in my bedroom... never knowing the name of the artist...
Currently married for almost 5 years to my HS sweetheart... and have a son age 2.5 who's lullaby song is Sunrise... (I kid you not)
I was not a frequent visitor of the DD.com MB as life as a Mom / Admin Assit. keeps me quite busy -- during my down time I'd try to log on... but its never easy.
Met the band a few times - all pleasant experiences... and had a short lived stint as being known as the Today Show Girl... my 15 seconds of fame ticking rapidly away!
Other than that... not much else to say -- feel free to contact me to chat.

I'm Carina, age 36, and I live in Chicago. I'm married, and I have two sons, ages 9 and 6. My MIL, who has Alzheimer's, also lives with us, so I'm a SAHMom/caregiver.
Ever since meeting her, I've adopted Karri205 (she's around here somewhere) as my internet luvah and concert-going sister.
In my free time, I make shit for boardies and RL friends who are obligated to wear or display said items for fear of being de-veined with a crochet hook.

Hey, I'll join in a little.
I'm in the same boat as Starry - married a Buckeye who isn't the happiest this week.
I live in the DC suburbs. Been a fan since I was in elementary school. I taught and tutored children for over 13 years. But retired this past spring to help my hubby run our store. Also am mom to two - Sam 4.5, Zoe 3 next month. Never met the guys and don't think I'll really ever get the chance - just as long as I get to see them live again, I don't care.

First off....huh? And second....I LOVE THAT SITE! First off, for example, there is a difference between someone writing about America and say, the Senegalese writing about America. Aside from the political considerations, it has a lot to do with cultural hegemony, how one constructs a view of themselves based on what they know about others... maybe I should quit while I'm behind. And second, YOU ROCK!

hi I have been Ruth for as long as I have known me. Before that, I am not really sure, but who does? I am unusually and brutally honest. It is more of a curse than a blessing. I like to make jokes even if I am the only one who laughs. Duran Duran is my favorite band. My life is not centered around Duran Duran (except in 2005 when there were some concerts). I have a hubby but I cant talk about it. no children. I think that kids are just not for me. I love to play with them, I am pretty much on their level. I probably would make a great childrens story author if I could ditch the adult POV's from my mind.
We are all good enough, so don't doubt yourself. Duranies are cool cause they are borderline insane. (my kind of crowd) Duran concerts remind me of sci-fi conventions, everyone wears a costume and acts weird.
I am talented and intellegent but unfocused and lacking ambition. Therefore everything I have is wasted. I'm not out to get anyone, I only want to have a good time.
Be excellent to each other and party on! | |
p.s. I am a little geeky and like to split the screen so I can post my picture next to my text. LOL

Hi Everyone! My name is Kim, I am 37 and I live in St. Pete Florida. I am newly engaged to a Florida Gator (sorry ladies of Buckeyes) so things are pretty good in my house this week. For anyone outside the U.S. who might think I am into Alligator bestiality from the "engaged to a Gator" comment, the Gators/Buckeyes references are about college football. :-) I have 3 dogs but no human kids. I work in radio as an inventory manager. I am a hockey fan and a huge Neil Finn & Ryan Adams fan. If you care to look a pictures, mostly of my pups feel free to check out my my space page. www.myspace.com/stpetekim

Hey Everybody! I'm Wendy and I live in Houston, TX. I am a wife and mom and I love it! I am married to a wonderful man named Steve. And I have three beautiful children: Emili - 13, Noah - 9 and Aaron - 6. Love em' to pieces! I am a stay at home mom; however, I am a full-time student. I want to be an elementary school teacher when I grow up! I have been a Duran Duran fan since 1983, when my friend showed me a picture of John Taylor... need I say more?? Love the guys... I am so glad we have found another place to chat and keep up with each other. I'm looking forward to some great topics of conversation! My kiddos!
