I with you they never refer to the Rolling Stones or Areosmith as retro!! WTF is that I saw the Stones at the old Cleveland Stadium during what the entirety of the press called the Steel Wheelchair Tour. There's a huge difference between Roger and Britney. He's smart and doesn't like all the publicity, she's dumb and addicted to the spotlight. But I agree, she should go into hiding. Far, FAR away from L.A. far away from US indeed... She should listen Roger he's wise

Is it just me or is anyone else a little annoyed about DD always being referred to as a "retro" or "80's band"., etc..? I realize that was their "heyday", but why can't they just be referred to as a band that still exists in the present?! I've been more than a "little" annoyed about it for a good long time now. However, the laziness of the press has no depths. I've wanted Brit to beat it for ages. Sorry. I'd be happiest for her and myself if she lives to a ripe old age, but never shows her face in public again. Win-Win!

I thought andy went away in 85, not to hide, but in a misguided effort to get all the limelight for himself (his own career). When I wrote my post, I was thinking back to this portion of Andy's last blog - which suggests that when he was 24-25, he also experienced some of the crap Britney is undergoing:"The problem for Brit is probably simple, aside from no fundamental street experience - When the time comes to take control of your life, usually around 25 years old - the people around you, who were used to getting it all their own way, cannot adjust to your new found adulthood & the realisation of your power - it is now their turn to listen & do what you are asking of them, this may not prove to be very popular - so they turn on you & start airing their concerns for you, probably because you have seen thru'' their bullshit & are about to fire their greedy ass... (As they are doing more coke than you & also buying it for you, even when you don't want it)"

I thought andy went away in 85, not to hide, but in a misguided effort to get all the limelight for himself (his own career). ...yes, he wanted to try his hand at that, sure...but as Goldengun has just highlighted, the stresses with DD also played a big part in his leaving the band. Even though he's talking about Britney, you can still sense the reference to his own past. If you read some of the Andy print media from back then, those pressures were very obvious. ....I'm glad both Roger and Andy left when they did. It was for the right reasons. Just as I'm glad John left when he did. At some point (when it all gets too much) you have to be a little selfish, and put yourself first. I think all 3 Taylors knew when that time came.
