Yeah, I know! But I can't help but think that he feels if they'd just gone with NR as they seemed all ready to do, instead of the one song on the album he *didn't* produce, it would have done better than FD and might have boosted the album sales and exposure of his work.

I read it as him being disappointed one of his tracks wasn't picked as the lead single. I don't think he came across as pompous or anything like that. For the most part I think he was very professional sounding. An interesting article. Thanks.

A couple of things. Although Nate was paid for his time on the album a producer makes their serious money from sales. Just like the artist they get a cut of every unit sold, so they choose projects they think will be big commercial hits and will add to their credability, their profile. Timberland had a run or success after success after success up until the DD album. Now the first single choosen was a Timberlake production but the fact the album has not done well (to date..) will be a big dissappointment to Timberland and Nate (both critically anf finalcially for them also).
He didn't slag the band off but I think he feels that his input shouldn't have resulted in reduced sales for the band. With less that 250,000 sales worldwide (apparently.) it has a long way to go before everyone that bought Astronaut goes out and buys it (2 Million - also apparently.).

yes..apparently..and i doubt it went for 2 mills.just like apparently the band sold 70 mill.records.. anyway..
i also think it was an ok int..and he did say it right..dd is not presented to the world properly..blame it on them..blame it on the media ..but i wanna know what da hell is sony thinking.. i think he did good job on the album..i like it alot..

I like it a lot too... He did a great job... I think it is quite depressing that the most exciting album they have put out in a long time has been overlooked so much.
