Hi All, Help us figure out what we want to do about the movie venue. We're anticipating a larger crowd than last time around, so we're trying to figure out if we need to rent a larger screening room. One of our major issues is cost, of course. We want to keep this as budget-friendly as possible. The larger venues are significantly more. One option we're considering is to keep the 6 PM screening at The Pioneer (same as last place) and making it a small "add-on" type of thing (movie with popcorn and soda, of course). The party at Mo's would start at 7:30-8. If you want to come to the screening, you can. If you don't, that's cool too! See the problem? Please let us know! Sheila

I want the movie. My wristbands are getting dusty. If you can't do the movie, I'd understand but you better have some faboo drink specials!!!

How 'bout a pre-party... then the screening followed my the after party? I think that makes everybody happy!

The problem is trying to figure if more than a certain amount of people will attend. The theater is small and only holds a certain amount. Would people want to sit through the movie or just have a party with the band and DJ? I personally thought seeing the movie was fun and added to the night, but that's just me.

Even though I have seen the movie God knows how many times, seeing it with others would be a BLAST. If the movie isnt a go, thats ok. Im still planning on being there with booze & all~

I voted for the movie AND the party. I think seeing the movie with a bunch of fellow Durannies from this board would be a hell of a lot of fun.
I completely understand costs, so therefore I wouldn't mind paying a small cover fee for the screening to help offset costs, if that became necessary.

I don't remember every seat being filled the last time around. What is the actual seated capacity at the theater?

I agree that it was a great way to kick the night off. And we definitely WILL be screening SBS. We're hoping to have between 150-200 ppl at this year's event. The Pioneer only holds 99 ppl.
If we keep it at The Pioneer, it is about half the cost of doing it at a larger venue.
So, we're trying to figure out if we should suck it up and get the larger venue and make it an all-inclusive thing or if we should keep The Pioneer, make it an add-on to the event.
Just trying to test the waters.
The date is (and will remain) the same -- January 12th (second Saturday in January).

I want to see the movie with a group of people. It would be so much better than watching at home.
