Aw, thank you guys so much for being so kind to let us have our little thread...LOL
Tonight was awesome. I can't even begin to thank each and every person who attended tonight's event.
When throwing party, it's easy to get mired in the minutae of the event. But Wednesday, when I was getting hit left and right with last-minute issues, the last thing I had time to do was the Final Details; but they were psomised on Wednesday. As I was loading all of the mailing details into a spreadsheet, something pretty wonderful happened....I realized where everyone was coming from geographically...specifically for one night in NYC. Here is a sampling:
Piscataway New Jersey Attleboro Massachusettes Peekskill New York Astoria New York Mattapoisett Massachusettes East Hampton New York River Edge New Jersey Corfu New york Medford New york Rutlidge Vermont Parkville Maryland Albequerque New Mexico Rutlidge Vermont Helmetta New Jersey Danforth Illinois New Paltz New york Stamford Connecticut New York New York Homestead Florida Windsor Ontario Canada Molenweg Groesbeek Netherlands Saint Petersburg Florida New York New York New Haven Connecticut Northport New York Astoria New York Atherton Manchester United Kingdom Bridge City Texas Oakland Gardens New York Colts Neck New Jersey Purdys New York Berlin New Jersey Shickshinny PA Fleet Hampshire United Kingdom Flushing New York Somerset Massachusettes Stormville New York Baltimore Maryland Cresco Pennsylvania White Plains New York Westbury New York Redwood City California Bronx New York Houston Texas Springfield Virginia Jacksonville Florida Stormville New York Antioch California Easton Pennsylvania Oradell New Jersey Myrtle Beach South Carolina OAK RIDGE New Jersey Dover New Hampshire Chevy Chase Maryland Staten Island New york
If you don't look at a list like that and see it as motivation, then you're not catching what's truly the point: A lot of people are making a great effort to make SBS what it is -- past and present.
If it wasn't for you guys making the journey, it just wouldn't be the party it is. I said that in 2006, and it completely bears repeating for SBS:2008.
So many thanks to everyone for such a fantastic party. Next time: fewer stairs...LOL I didn't get to spend much time with everyone the first 2 hours because I was going up and down stairs...LOL
2010: In my living room...60" screen...Pabst Blue Ribbon $10 specials. 'nuff said.
xoxo..to everyone. Even the quasi-boyfriend had a great time; I was carrying him out at the end. To say that he was dubious at the beginning is (understandably) an understatement. I walked in the door at about 5:00 AM after dropping him off. I texted him to let him know I had arrived home safely. 2 minutes later, he was on the phone going on-and-on about the great time he had.
And he's not a Duran fan.
My biggest hanks to everyone who attended!
