Def Leppard have apparently followed in Bon Jovi's footstep in collaboratingwith Tim McGraw in their new single 'Nine lives'. Surely this would've brought them millions' attention in the US. Although I shudder at this thought, I was just wondering what everyone thinks about the possibility of Duran might do similar things in the future...(they'd probably say ...over my dead body...but you never say never...)

It will be interesting to see if the Def collaboration will help or hurt them. I've heard the track and the Elliot parts are quite good, but the McGraw verses don't work, IMHO. Apparently the UK version doesn't have McGraw...

Duran's Pop Trash has HINTS of country in it with the slide guitar stuff.

I guess it would depend on who they played with. If it was the new country (ie pop/rock disguised as country like most of the artists today) I'd say hell no! If it was someone like say Loretta Lynn (who worked with Jack Black) I might like it. If it was someone like Wilco (who are alternative country and aren't played on country) then yes!

I can't imagine a full-on country version of Duran. I mean, picture them, especially Nick, decked out with cowboy hats, checkered shirts, huge belt buckles, dungarees, singing something like Sweet Home Alabama. Naahhhh!!!!
But I guess it would depend on the artist. Maybe something along the realm of the "country-pop" genre could be possible.

Actually, Sweet Home Alabama isn't country.
