Holiday in the Sun June 21st, 2008 Hi Katy, I was just wondering on Duran Duran’s recordings (Primarily the studio albums/singles), if any one other than Simon (Other than Nick on the track MEDAZZALAND), sings vocals, or is it just Simon singing the lead and background vocals? I was just thinking about that, as in the live performances, John sings vocals on tracks like “Ordinary World”, and “The Reflex”, and was interested to know if he or any of the others sang on the original recordings of the songs. Thank you, Carl
“As I spent the entire recording period for POP TRASH lying on a beach in in Costa Rica, Warren completed the vocals on said record. It often surprises me just how closely he was able to mimic the sound of my voice. S”

Hee hee I think Simon is still feeling under the weather ... one of those cranky sick people.

He's an Justin Beiber Fan, as usual, but we all know that I fail to detect anything "Justin Beiber Fan-ish" about his reply.

Well he's touched on a nerve with his response. The line up of Taylor, Rhodes, Le Bon almost came to an end earlier than it did when the early promo pressings of Out Of My Mind were credited as produced by "TV Mania" (Nick/Warren) with no reference to Si (which was accurate). Si threw his toys out of the pram until he got a credit. This theme continued into Pop Trash where Warren wrote all the music and virtually everything done in the studio was under the supervision of Nick and Warren (including writing most of the lyrics) as Si was usually on holidays. He was on a boat cruising around Greece at one point which went down like a lead balloon with the others... It's a humerous response but also a direct reference to how things were at the time and how Si was made feel that he was contributing nothing but a bare vocal when he could be bothered to turn up.
