As I watch the Olympics I think about all of the bad stuff going on in America now but I am also reminded about the freedoms I take for granted on a daily basis. The ceremony was pretty. I was watching this morning and was surprised to realize badminton is an olympic sport! That's what I love about the olympics is the things that I don't realize are olympics sports.

Why is it that every time I watch afternoon summer Olympics they're showing women's beach volleyball??
It was that was with Athens, and Australia, and now I just turned on NBC and what are they showing? Women's beach volleyball!! There's nothing wrong with the sport, it just seems as if it gets a LOT of airtime!

Because they have all the crappy sports in the afternoon. You have to wait for primetime!

The cycling was interesting, just because of the scenic route they took.

Now NBC and CBC are both showing women's beach volleyball!! Oh well, they did show some men's gymnastics earlier, which was pretty cool...

My bad-Iran does have women athletes competing. They are still obligated to wear a hijab, but at least they are allowed to compete.

My bad-Iran does have women athletes competing. They are still obligated to wear a hijab, but at least they are allowed to compete. That is strange to the western world. Especially when you compare it to the Arab countries where the women were walking bareheaded (Jordan, Turkey, Morocco, etc). I guess having to wear a hijab and competiting is better than not being allowed to compete at all.

Justin Spring's high bar routine was amazing. He should have ahd a higher start value for it, but it was definitely a crowd pleaser.
