New Duran Duran LP out this summer

I was a little a bit upset about some reaction about my last post... It is not because that I am not posting that much that my info are not reliable... Did you know that Simon & Jaz were shopping by Chopard in Geneva in the 90's & maybe still do ! Nobody knew that, but me... If this depends on the sum of posts, many of "Duranies" are posting crap & the fact that their noze is itching...
There was an interesting post called Delay, & in fact that Saint there was very good on the facts, but he does not know really what is going on. These days, there is a real attract on "retro" bands who play live & have guts ! Meanwhilst, do you really think that DDs need a major to get published by a major ? What means major today, it means crap ! When EMI (Capitol) was at its state, the company was behing great acts. Today, this is not anymore a british company, & the men behind the wheel are just Justin Beiber Fans making business. There was a kind of soul before... Just listen to the "music" these days... This is rubbish ! It is not a am getting older, this is a true fact. Musicians from today, do not know how to deliver the right stuff... Anyway, DDs can still fill in quite big places, but they need to supply the charts with new hits like they did in '93. We will anyway buy their records & we are still believing they will make it up !
I am living in Switzerland & was lucky enough to put my ears on a MDisc sent to David Richards in Montreux with the latest brew from Sphere Studios, & this kicks ass !!! From my source, it has been said to be the last media to emerge & to be reviewed by the releasing company. I will not give away the name from the firm, but don't be scared, our boys are still making a bunch of money on the road & more important, the new record is a stellar page in the music industry. Saint was saying DDs don't own the back catalogue... They still know how to get juicy contracts as I said before. During the "comeback" tour with Andy, they became very wealthy again...
Please believe in your favourite band, they will deliver the goods ! These days, you don't have so many great bands with such possibilities...

Apart making private shows I don't see how they could make a single for this summer... but maybe I don't have every cards in my hands...

I hope you're right but i'm always dubious when a 'source' of someone who made John a cup of tea in 1984 seems to know the score lol.

I truly dont understand why / if knowledge is known their is some kind of ' i cant tell' shroud built around it. Whats the issue sharing if careful ? - I suspect its because everyone and his dog could make up some 'facts' - without evidence theyre nothing.

Honestly, I don't see how what this poster is saying is possible.

The band hasn't been in the studio at all lately, how could they be finishing anything? How could they have a single almost ready for release and Roger doesn't even know about it? Recent blogs don't mention it, or having ANY music even close to being done. Releasing new music isn't supposed to be a secret - no band in their right mind prepares a single for release and doesn't publicize it well in advance! When RCM was being finished they talked about it for months.

My gut feeling? We're being yanked. Or, this fellow is well-meaning but mistaken. Guess we'll see.

Kikilon: No offense, but why WOULD anyone just kinda believe what you, me, or anyone else posted as "news" without anything to really verify it with?

The band themselves have been recently quoted as if it was unlikely that anything was coming out this year. They recently went BACK in the studio to record. A healthy dose of skepticism seems appropriate.

If what you're saying is true, then.....cool......hope things are moving along for the band. There's just something about how you're putting said news across that seems odd. If I had inside info and wanted to share it for some reason (not likely) I think i'd just put it out there without any need or expectation for folks who have read 10 posts by me EVER to believe it. That just seems strange to me.....that you would have that expectation, or question folks for doubting you in those circumstances. So if you're being honest - then cool, just be realistic about folks blindly believing/trusting you (again, regardless of whether you're telling the truth or not).

Wanna give us any hints on who they're supposedly releasing the new material with? Major? Independent? Traditional label or mutlimedia type outfit? I'm all for speculating and tossing the ball around.

i really hope a new album soon , can't wait but i also agree with the people here , i don't think that will be for this summer , will see .. oh yeah .. and still have hope in my band !!! always
