Actually my doctor DID tell me that if I didn't want to give Daisy the meds, to give her a strong cup of coffee in the mornings.

Jill (M-I-L's neighbor) said Grayson wouldn't touch coffee, but she started giving him a Mountain Dew with his breakfast........
I guess it kinda makes a little sense, though, I was thinking about it on my way to school: Premature babies are given doses of caffeine so that their little brains will 'remember' to breathe......

The doc said coffee but if it's for the caffiene, I don't see why it would matter.

I actually had a professor who, in his classroom days had a student whose parents did not want to do medication. So, every morning, the student went to the principals office and had 2 large mugs of strong coffee.

well, aren't some of these medications stimulants? caffeine = stimulant, yes?
@daisybell - I'm taking a class to help my son out and some of the exercises they do would probably help. Remind me to tell you about it at dinner or pm me if you're interested.

I just re-read this thread. There is a board on iVillage for parents of kids with special needs. If anyone is interested, the link is messageboards.ivillage.com/iv-psdisability/. I usually lurk the "Hearing Impairments" section of that board and answer questions about education issues. Have joy!

daisy - at that point I should still be able to demonstrate as well. Actually, maybe the demonstrations will improve after drinks!!

Update-I've started givingDaisy the meds. The first day I gave it to her in the morning. She was WAY too sleepy and nauseous. the doc said I could give it to her before bed. So far so good. We'll see results beginning in a week or so. Cross your collective fingers please!
