Agreed - that booklet is amazing. For such a great brochure, why is this the first time we're seeing this? (Or am I late to the party?) With the Simon & Nick photo - that's clearly taken mid/late on in the Arcadia timeline, so is this a promo booklet? Just curious about any thoughts on this. Again, great find!
Well, as you kind of note, obviously on one side you've got an image from Election day - but i 'think' that the image on the other side was from a month or so earlier than the filming of The Promise video in December 85...
...&, not understanding Japanese, it's not 100% definite that the history is all historical - however it's only a couple of lines about 1986 which are differently notated & appear to be explicitly casting forward.
Now we know from many other Japanese releases that the same item could have inserts at different times - so it's possible that this was indeed put into some copies of the ED 12" in late 85/early 86...
...& i believe we know from the 2nd sticker sheet that things could be in more than one release - so my understanding is that both some later copies of 7&TRT & some early copies of Arena both had it... ...so i guess it's also possible that some copies of The Promise 12" might also have come with it.
Yeah, there are some stupidly rare Japanese inserts - so something like 7&TRT with the (almost) 12" square notepad thing i think i've only seen 2 copies of for sale; one of which i own...
...or the inserts for the UOTS 12" which i'd never heard of before Peter posted about finding a copy.
So there is some really rare stuff out there from Japan that effectively never shows up.

I both love and detest EMI Japan for making it so deliciously difficult!

I learnt about that insert only a few months ago when a facebook-friend posted pictures. Very high on my wishlist!

& then there's this - - which is the Japanese cover of AVTAK by one of the actresses. More of an oddity than a must have, but one turned up for a reasonable(ish) price.
Where did you even find out about this? I have never heard of that before.

Where did you even find out about this? I have never heard of that before. i can't recall where i first heard about it tbh. Possibly either on Guillermo's site - www.durancollection.com/disco/tributes/tributescovers.htm - where he's got 2 versions listed... ...or on the wanted section of Duran2.net - as there was an indentical copy that couldn't be bid on via Buyee which i mentioned to Amiestilo, in case he had an alt way to buy it... ...as i'd remembered that he wanted one...
...but i'm not sure now as i've certainly been aware of it for some years - so there equally could have been an odd copy on eBay that went for way more than i thought it was worth or when looking up AVTAK stuff on a James Bond collector's site or something.

Oh, & there was also this, which is pretty cool imho - - & this was a reasonable price earlier - What is that top item Tim? Promotional instore piece? Given the dimensions, i can only assume that it would have sat at the back of a rack/tray of LPs - since, at around 23 inches (58.5cm) vertically, it's far too tall to have been a mid-rack divider as it would have instantly been trashed. Yeah, i don't remember things like this one being used in the UK. But there were certainly occasional mid-rack dividers which would be maybe 14" tall & just have a top design - where, Duran-wise, i think i recall a BT one... ...or 12" square cards for other items that could be added in with the LPs - for example there's a 12" square "ask at the counter" card for DOTV/SBS.
