Ah thanks for the info - I love the song Life In A Day (really, how can you not get into this song once Jim Kerr starts singing?) so will look out for the new single.

Both new tracks - 'Broken Glass Park' and 'Blood Diamonds' - have been leaked on Youtube, if anyone is interested.
Both songs are very electronic and very synth-heavy. Having listened to 'Broken Glass Park' a bit more, it does sound like classic Simple Minds but updated and remodeled. However, these are only promotional tracks from the forthcoming greatest hits compilation, a full 14 track album of new material will follow in November.
