Breath After Breath would have been Top 20 I think. it has the same vibe as the first two singles.
Femme Fatale was also going to be a US single I read, but something got in the way with that too.

Yeah fair point about the key point. I think it did give the songs an edge though. A lot of friends I have hate 80's Duran but have been really enjoyed their 90's work, and have even been like "this is good - who's this? ---- Duran Duran your @!@! kidding!" I had a lot of non-Duranie friends in high school who loved the Wedding Album (which btw durandrum, was never the "offical" title, more like just a nickname - as it was self-titled like their first album), and owned as the sole DD album in their collections. One of these friends heard 'Is There Something I Should Know" on the radio one day, and thought it was the silliest thing she had ever heard, not believing me when I said it was also Duran. Maybe it's a generational thing, maybe it's because of being introduced to their catalogue backwards, but I love the whole album (minus "Shotgun", I'll give ya that), and it has the same sentimental value to me that the early albums have for the old-school fans. TWA somehow spoke to the '90s teen in a way that its contemporaries just couldn't. eta: And I shall defend it to the death. ;D I would as well ;D it is the only post 80's album they've done that's held my attenstion for more than a few weeks- I played that album endlessly for about a year. and it's pretty much the only album (1990 onwards) I'll keep going back to- I don't remember when I last I heard Poop Trash, (no) Thank You or even A-naut

TMI was a great track...probably ties with Skin Trade as one of the best underrated singles. I don't think it was EMI's fault tho...They did promote the song, but radio just didn't play it. MTV did play it some and it was a minor hit only. I have a SUBWAY poster for the single release. They did put out a cassette single and 12" and cd single so it was out there...just wasn't a big hit...the album was relatively successful though in no small part due to this track. I liked the video. I actually saw the first US show of the tour in Tampa.

They were HOT, if only they had of released a live acoustic album before Thank You.....

I love the acoustic-y riff, partly because it's one in the eye for people who deride Warren's playing as too technical/devoid of feeling. If I can play it, it ain't too technical! I found it a bit Stones-ish for some reason.
Its failure as a single release was not as big a 'WTF?' moment as that of 'Skin Trade', but it's up there.
