I've lived in San Francisco twice and absolutely adore the city. I respectfully disagree with the reviewer's assessment. Your review was well writen and went into detail reviewing the whole album. Though your're a fan I'm sure you would have not given it such a glowing review if you felt it didn't merit one. The review in the SF paper is just lazy and though it appers they have listend to the record they don't go into any detail as to why they hate it so much. I wasn't tied down by space restrictions because I wrote my review for a website. The SF Chronicle and Rolling Stone reviews might have been as short as they were because they had to be. I'm definitely a fan, but you're right - I'd have been (negatively) critical if I felt the material warranted it. I've made no bones around here about which of the band's prior releases I didn't much care for, and I'd have done the same had I felt differently about the new album than I do.

Or maybe he did listen to it, it reminded him of Medazzaland, and thought "sod it, life's too short".

But every time Duran has played there (some cool shows a year and a half ago at the Mountain Winery and the Filmore), they have a great response from fans.

I read that, it's the Mail on Sunday, not really a review, more an an article referencing Duran Duran in the 80's

Awful review. Not even going to bother wasting my time registering to that site just so that I can point out the blatantly obvious - that the reviewer is a clearly a bonehead. Luckily the professional reviewers seem to think the new album is great!
