Man this is awesome LIVE--Simon was soo skinny==Warren was jamming on the guitar like a Rock god and Nick and JT as well as Steve Ferrone were Jamming--Strange Behavior Tour was an awesome one.... I missed it but my sister saw them in 87 at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit--she said the screams were maddening and the girls were throwing underwear on the stage--my sister did not drive at the time and my mom took here--she thought Simon, JT and Nick were all cute but loved Nick the most! No Andy or Roger

Tis good. Mind you, you can guarantee much of the audience will head for the bar/toilet during this song.

'Notorious' is undoubtedly a popular song with the casual audience but for me, it is an average song from what is almost a great album. 'Winter Marches On', 'Hold Me', 'American Science', 'Matter of Feeling' and as you say 'Vertigo' are all great and would be far better replacements.

duranfan09, you named all my favorite songs off Notorious. Even though it was different even at the time I loved the album, I think it has a lot of good songs. Winter Marches On is so haunting. I love Hold Me and American Science. Actually I like Skin Trade quite a bit too. I saw them on this tour, I think Erasure opened for them at the show I went to. IIRC the singer from Erasure wore a red teddy on stage.

Vertigo is my favorite song off Notorious as well, but I get why Notorious is part of the current set list as it's one of their biggest hits. Did Vertigo ever get played after the Strange Behavior tour? BTW, I also love the cat tail on the background singer's outfit in that video clip and Warren's guitar solo is outstanding!

I love WMO, but it would not be put in place of Notorious, or as John likes to call it, NoNo. Hold Me would be a GREAT track! I loved that tour, also. I saw Erasure 3 times and yes, he wore the red teddy and fishnets and Docs. One of the shows I saw he wore a black teddy just like it. Or maybe it was black twice and red once. Who knows?

I wasn't suggesting WMO for the show(though it was good during the Big Thing tour), just saying I like it. But yeah Hold Me is uptempo and I've always thought it was so catchy. LOL Glad to know I wasn't imagining the red teddy(and the fishnets, couldn't recall the shoes). My friend and I(who I went to concert with) already liked a few Erasure songs so we liked them as an opening act

'Hold Me' is a strange track because it could have easily been a B-side from the 'Seven & The Ragged Tiger' sessions, certainly in terms of sound. It's definitely my personal favourite, although I love 'We Need You' as well (which was wrongly relegated to B-side status). 'Matter of Feeling' and 'Winter Marches On' don't really fit into the whole funk-orientated vision of the album, but that's probably just as well as they're much better for it. A couple of the other tracks are just cringeworthy, with their female backing vocals and over-the-top trumpets.
Warren must be commended though, as it's fairly difficult to tell exactly which guitar parts are his and which ones are Andy's.

Seem to remember Notorious moving into Nite Runner - would be different. I love WMO but it more the sort of thing they would have played at the rehearsal gigs than on a "crowd-pleaser" gig. Very sad Shadows never made it onto the main set list. I must listen to Notorious again - some really good tracks on there - WMO and American Science were my favourites
