hi there, Can someone help me out with this question? Regularly promo lp's from Uruguay are offered on ebay housed in a red standard EMI sleeve. But on the front the art of the CASSETTE is stuck (as well as on the back). My question is: has this used to be the way in Uruguay to release promo records at the time? Or has someone been very creative at home? Here's an example: www.ebay.nl/itm/281094797249?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649Would very much appreciate your help! Thanks and best regards, Peter

I am not 100% sure but to me these always looked like somebody did a poor homework to make a few bucks on eBay... Never bought any of these especially because of the cassette inlays cut and taped over the red EMI sleeve.

Especially as for 30 year old sleeves they look pretty 'new' to me. Thanks for your response.

Here's my thought - the records do appear to be promos (well, commercial issues that have been stamped as 'promo'). Perhaps down there in Uruguay, they didn't release promos in a special sleeve or commercial sleeve but used the red sleeve with a white box area to insert / paste artwork of the album that was used for the cassette.
