I love Matter Of Fact, and think it sounds just as suitable on The Wedding Album as Come Undone or Love Voodoo. So I think it should have been included on TWA (along with the other unreleased tracks) at the expense of some of the crap which somehow made it on there.
Plus Notorious already had one track which wasn't funk/rock based, and that was Winter Marches On (incidentally the worst song on the album); it didn't need any more.

Come Undone and Love Voodoo both have a certain dark edge that works for TWA. 'Matter of Fact' has a very different mood, almost too happy or mellow for that album (musically that is, lyrics nothwithstanding). I'm with ya on the other b-sides though. Love those. My opinion of Notorious as an album is probably not as high as others', it has its problems. But dang, I still love 'Winter Marches On'.

Wow! I found one thing I disagree with coolbarn about! I was beginning to think I had a Tyler Durden thing happening since I usually agree with all your posts! I LOVE Winter Marches On and consider it to be one of the best on the album! It was also special because it was the B-side to the Notorious single, so I listened to the hell out of it while waiting for the album to drop and it was a glimpse to what was to come (but turned out to not really be) with the rest of the album.

Always enjoyed both Beautiful Colours and Virus. I remember being at the House of Blues show in Chicago in 2003 (night 2) and hearing it live. The whole place really seemed to like it. Was surprised it never made it to an official release. I thought Virus sounded better live than the studio version. It's funny how the demos for Astronaut eventually got leaked, but Reportage still remains under lock and key. Still hoping for an iTunes release of that someday. I can hope!

Hey give me a second chance - I can change! It's not you, it's me. It's me who hasn't given the beautiful and moving atmosphere of Winter Marches On a chance to penetrate my soul. It's me who isn't prepared to kick my shallow preconceptions that many slower tempo tracks are insipid and trite. It's me that can't adapt to Duran's multiple genre selections on individual albums. I can change. I want to change. And that's the first step - admitting there's a problem and wanting to rectify it. I love you deeply and unconditionally Lu, and always will. Regardless of you being mad, old, and having horrible taste in Duran Duran's music.
