They have long wonted to get back the back catalogue so Warners Emi would make sense. Jt says it makes marketing easier.

They never spent 5 years between albums, The Beatles are still regarded as the bench mark for music.

At least DD didn't call it a day when they were in their late 20s at the end of the 1980s. And The Beatles are overrated anyway :-p

Grrrrrr (makes fist) I disagree, but I think all their solo material is overrated, especially McCartney (what a putz)

I am stunned that they are only 75% through. Does that mean that they still have 25% of the total amount of work yet to do on the album. I thought they were like 95% done?

I thought they were 75% done 12 months ago???
The proof of the pudding will be in the final eating. If this album is amazing then we'll probably all agree that it was a great idea the band took their time and got everything right. However if the album is at all underwhelming, even a little, then there will be plenty of accusations of the band 'over-cooking' it to the point of killing it.
Personally I'm a little concerned it has taken so long, because I prefer Duran's music to actually sound like real rock musicians in a room with a bit of rawness. I don't like music that is so perfect and fake it almost doesn't sound like music any more.
And the more Duran tend to polish, the more unnecessary layers they add, the more it ultimately subtracts.

Precisely!
