I was browsing through my tape collection and came across this one : It's the only cassette bootleg I have. I remember buying it in Camden Town in London in 1993. I was wondering if anyone has it too and if others exist. These were fast productions, available shortly (days ? weeks ?) after the show. I remember the vendor had lots of those but all by other bands who had played in the UK recently. As you can see the cassette itself is a generic one (no titles, just : "see inlay for details")

The recording actually isn't that bad although it is an audience recording. I might even have transferred it to the digital domain (CD) in the nineties. I honestly don't remember. I've actually transferred several vinyl boots to CD at a time these were still unavailable on CD(R). I declicked the audio manually on audio software and then burned to CD. These Cd's were traded with fans in the nineties, then later probably have been converted to mp3's and traded further online. But I don't remember transferring this tape. Maybe someone else did. It's highly probable that it is this version that started circulating. I must compare the tape with what I have on my external harddisk.

I had one of Wembley Arena 1988 in a horrible photocopied inlay but the sound quality was great as it was the BBC recording of the show. Threw it out years ago. Like the mention of "new song" on this inlay

Like the mention of "new song" on this inlay if it was Wembley 1988 then it would have been a Capital Radio broadcast - which was live & had ad breaks going through it interrupting the show. (i only have a partial copy of it on tape, as it was recorded for me by one of my cousins & he only had a single blank cassette to hand - i was at the show) instead, the BBC one from that era was an edited version of the Manchester Apollo show in 1989.

you really can't derive the song title by just listening to UMF !

Of course you are right pocketdemon, thanks! No probs. it's more that i don't think there's ever been a full (obviously accepting the annoying Christmas adverts - i recall one being Julian Clary advertising 7-11) version of the Wembley gig do the rounds... ...so if there was a decent quality tape of it then it'd really good to hear as, even with the adverts, it should be *much* more complete than the BBC's 89 Manchester one.
